(try this link if the first doesnt work)

This is a small tutorial showing how to control the balls movement depending on where it hits on the bat.

Ive noticed that there isnt much skill involved in most of the bat and ball games made with click products. Its because the bat is usually used simply to stop the ball going out of the screen. This makes bat and ball games a waiting game rather than involving any control.

This is good for pong games too

This is a good tutorial. But if it was to be used in a bat and ball game it might be good not to have the ball bounce strait up after hitting the middle of the bat. This could make the game to easy.

it seems to bounce souly on how it hit the paddle. i think it should also depend on the way it was going in the first place

That's correct. The ball should bounce at the opposite angle that it struck the bat, with the edges modifying the angle slightly but not the middle.
