I curse to let out my anger, not to increase it! Crystal, I never said ALL of H.E.S. I like anyone who thinks the admins are doing a good job, except ashman--I like him, but kinda think he's like low-grade glue to this site. He's holding it together, yet tearing it apart.

99% of the anger I exhibit here is entirely fake, if you didn't know that you would be called a tool if it weren't a violation of the rules.

But I think I can sum up the motive behind swearing by quoting the great Billy Connelly yet again :

"Some people say that swearing is a sign of a limited vocabulary! But I must know at least... 127 words... but I still prefer 'f*ck'"

Point, made.

Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.

"My name is Anego Montoya
You killed my father
Prepare to die."

Actually, Keatonian, it should be Anigo.
and he prounounces killed and prepare and father funny.
"My name is Anigo Montoya.
You kille my fatha.
Plepeah to die." is more politically incorrect.

I see... What is with all of these "Nazi Hitler" references?

We all have freedom of speech on the Internet and in real life... I guess. But it only goes up to a point when you're talking in public, and you can get in trouble if you don't watch what you say. What I am saying in this post is what I have recieved in knowledgebase from the rules of other online message board communities.

For one thing, they all have the strict law of "Freedom of speech, yes, but please watch your mouth, don't cuss, swear, or use improper language and slurs in general. We will edit your posts and warn you if we find you doing this, and upon further of your doing this we will take action." That is, say what you want, but if you start flinging words that would be, in a G-rated movie or under, bleeped out in censorship then you have gone too far and are in the wrong with your "You're not the boss of me, I know my rights, I have freedom of speech, I can say what I want to!"

Another thing is, a lot of the boards have a "Rants and Flames" board, or a "No Holds Bar" type of forum for people who want to let it all out. The Admins and Mods would allow messy enraged posts and posts from people who just want to be jerks and taunt each other to pop up here, but not allow them to come up in other forums. If the admins found any improper posts outside the "Rants and Flames" forum they would warn or ban the poster and move the thread over to Rants and Flames (or delete it, depending on the content and how far it has gone). Those places can get nastey, and I can only assume it'll attract a lot of bad people and idiots like the others have, but as long as they are contained in that forum all is good... right?

Another thing that has always been mentioned has been... It's not your website. It's not your message board. Unless you start paying for it and managing it, you need to abide by the rules properly. Step into someone's house and start flinging dishes and the owner of the house will call the police on you and have you arrested and taken away (If you're a minor and a child who likes to get into trouble, ignore the "I'm a kid, so I can get in trouble all I want and it'll be okay!" sense). This always seems to be a misconcieved idea on all message boards where some poster user has felt he has been wronged by the forum's admins and starts going around saying "I'm registered here, I found this site, I can say what I want to! Stop holding me back!", spamming the board and generally making a mess. No one likes a foul player!

So in general, just be nice. Be considerate about others who you know you're posting around and realize that how you talk and act may not be agreeable with others.

A lot of good points well made in that post, Chamzel.

The "Rants and Flames" board idea works in some places but not others. On the previous board I moderated, the admins put up one of those... it lasted about four hours before it was taken down again.

a rants and flames board would be a little too popular here, methinks. it'd be impossible to stop any arguments in such a board from escaping and i wouldn't condone its use on any site. obviously i agree with everything else chamzel says.
