STORY:
After the time in Clouds Kingdom you rested a while before travelling further into the mighty lands of Rakast to find and destroy Sinith Majoo, your most powerful enemy. But now, the time has finally come for you to resume the search for the evil Sinith Majoo and to reclaim your revenge on him in a final battle...

THE GAME:
You who've played the first game knows what this is all about. There have been a few changes from the original game though.
It's a jump-and-collect-game, where you play as Master JiKah travelling through Rakast, a wide country, collecting crystals. Your goal is to reach the hideout of Sinith Majoo.

FEATURES:
• Play though 5 new levels.
• Custom Movement Engine (Thanks to Arf).
• Much of the bugs from CK1 is now gone.
• Improved artwork.

I'd like to thank Arf for the platform engine. Please check out his site at http://www.fpp-games.com/

Good job ;] But the player looks like flying whe you jump..

The game starts out with a well presented and well designed title screen. But as soon as the gameplay begins, you're presented with nothing but a bog standard platformer. A major disappointment in my opinion.

pretty decent game, but a jumping animation and some background gfx would be nice :)

I have yo agree with Jon, the screens looked real nice, but the game itself could have been ALOT better! Better luck next time. ^_^

I think I agree with the others. The presentation is very good, but the level design lets it down slightly. It could do with a few more enemies and things, too. It might be better also with a bit more speed (that's probably my fault actually for making the default one too slow). If you're planning on making a Cloud Kingdom 3, then this is a solid base from which to start. You basically need more interesting content in the game itself. Thanks for the credit and the link, by the way. Finally, to quote the CrobaSoft logo: "At least you didn't pay for it."

I made that up ^^

it seemed a little static to me. And was there any sound? i didnt hear any. it seems to have an uneven jump too.

A ninja without ninja abilities seems.... out of place. Other than that, my comments would agree with others above.

Presentation was good. Engine was good. But there is no jumping animation, no real challenge. Just spikes, platforms and springs. Maybe in the next game (I assume there will be one) that you add more things into the level - such as more collectables, more attacks, more enemies - things like that. Good game - but I don't think I'll play it again.

As many of you already has figured out, there will be a Clouds Kingdom 3, which I had planned from the very beginning of my progress of this game. I almost knew that people would complain about the ninja having no skills nor attributes or the game having no enemies, but I had plan to add that in the third game. CK2 was more of an sequel to CK1 from which I worked most on improving the artwork, fixing the bugs, and stuff like that. So, expect a Clouds Kingdom 3 some time with enemies, weapons, attributes, points, a jump-animation XD & much more. I don't want to hype the game to much though. We'll just see what the future might bring to us. But anyways, thank you for your comments ! I got a lot new fresh ideas.

this is pretty good, basic but good

Posted by Mårten 20th November, 2004

Well, you should have just skipped this one and focused on the third part then. This adds nothing to the experience of your "grand saga". What is told storywise could've just been made to one level in a bigger game.

hehe, after a day of work, the guy sets up camp, then immediately travels on :).. thats just weird. A small thing that would have made this a lot more attractive to me would be simply music and some more speed.

Yes, this is an extremely basic platformer. I heard no music apart from the final level, and even that only played once without looping. It needs enemies!

It's okay. As metioned above, CK2 is extreamly basic. There's nothing special about the gameplay. It was so easy I beat it in about ten minutes. There aren't any enemies, so that made it even easier. I'll review this when I get a chance.

Nice but short

Posted by Ecstazy 20th November, 2004

It had potential, but it's just too empty.

If you're making a CK3, I advise you take the time to draw backdrops rather than use gradients. Gradients can look nice when used strategically, but when they're your entire backdrop, they look a little empty.

Hey I remember Clouds Kingdom 1!! I even remember the interview at ClickIsland... I did accually not eat or drink anything during my time creating Clouds Kingdom. Oh yes! I think i maybe ate a sandwich and some chocolate. :D Awesome

The game rocks by the way, I really like the simplicity of it!

Haha thank you, Weston L (Kake). And hey, don't make me think about the interview XD

dang at the title screen this seemed so promising but was let down by the severe lack of enemys. The only real challenge provided was platforms being spaced to far apart :-( i really liked the characters grfx and bdrop's but like already mentioned, the gradient backdrop--urgh. Youve clearly got talent in the graphics department so why waste it? Add a background, enemys, in level music and some more animations and i'd say this game would be pretty damn good. I love platform games :-) did the title screen remind anyone else of eternal daughter??? anyway this is just constructive critism so don't think im whining or anything. All that aside i actually liked this game alot was just dissapointed it wasnt better.

Thanks cielx, yeah you're right about the graphs. I could have worked more on them. And I will in the forthcoming game in the ck-series. Hmm.. that about the title-screen remindng you about ED; Maybe that was the music? I know I used the same midi-instrument as they did in the ED-Menu, but that's the closest thing to that game. Haha, maybe I shouldn't see that one as a bad comment since ED is one hell of a game. :)

Not good. Really poor on gfx, sfx, bgm, etc... It seems a Platform Engine with a minimum of characterization. Do better!

Posted by Myatt 26th November, 2004

this really suck donkey balls

Posted by Joshua M. 8th December, 2004

What? The game is far too short and too easy!
