Many of you have heard of Tremor, and if you haven't, I suggest you to go:

This version will have at least 2 more builds before the final version goes out. This version has had the following changes since the last build:

Bug Fixes

User got struck after he died in strafe mode
Player could still play when connection was lost
Player could send a lot of packets by pressing fire too many times
Server would not send message of the day
Server wouldn't assign teams
Random LAW missile lock
Random crashes while chatting
Disconnect crash
Cannot strafe up stairs
Scrolling slowdown
Windows and barrels exploded at the start of a game
Barrels would be created even if the map didn't have them
Cloaking crate didn't work
Machine gun and chaingun wouldn't fire while moving
Auto balancing would auto flood
Game would crash when switching to score screen
Player would jump across the screen on respawn (cubic spline trigger)
Player speed was not in the cubic spline
Scores were inverted (deaths were kills, kills were deaths)
Fixed crash due to failed GUI
Found Array crash
Scrolling crash
Game Changes:

Added Vehicle spawn point
Added Tank (unusable)
Added new score interface
Added login screen
Moved cloaking and quad damage counters
Added homing LAWs and Multi-launchers
Added missile locking system

Disabled redrawing of object not on the current layer
Split editor into 3 panels
Server Changes:

Added server player team checks
Added auto-balancing on server
Server can now force packet routing
Server window is minimizable
Server can chat with players that are in-game
Server uptime clock switched from raw seconds to hour:minute:second fomat
Added player list

Now when you play it, the gameplay is MUCH smoother. A new version is scrolling is out for slower comps. You can switch to windowed mode with -NOF.

For this beta, and the future versions, the game requires you to register at the forums to play for the laddar (which we will give out at least $200 in prizes after the release of Tremor).

This also completes the last testing stage of Tremor (at least for the engine). Vehicles will be in later versions!

There is less than 10% of the original Tremor coding in the game!

The Server list uses MOOSock to retrieve Linux and Windows Servers, each with scripts and custom hooks. The map editor will be released with the final version. The final version will include the SQL user database and server system.

Currentely, my main web host is down so many features aren't in. The user database and server list isn't up becuase they depended on my web server. This will probably make you think less of the game because you have to use the Clickpool server, which even on DSL will give you ping over 150ms.

Anyhow, 90% of Mark Pay's original code has been replaced by the new multiplayer engine written from scratch. He gave me permission to use his graphics, even encouraging me to make the mutlplayer version of his game.

After over 200 hours of works, 139 builds and 51 real tests (with other players, not locally tested), the dead reckoning engine (also written from scratch) is finished. The map loader and user system is all that is left, they have only to be plugged in, the programming is done.

I sure hope you all enjoy this beta as much as I have making it depite the fact that you have to use the ClickPool server (this affect users in North America). It has over 2000 lines of Click code and has been optimized over 100 times (really!)

lol servers are up, I think I'll release the server so you can host your own games very very soon still cant get some bugs out of the game...checking the drawing board...:\ you guys like the game? anything to improve it?

movement is a little quirky . . . but overall the game is pretty fun. I couldn't get the strafe to work (maybe I was doing it wrong), and the key assign screen doesn't work like it's supposed to. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the game, and I'm looking forward to the final release.

nice but servers are down (cannot connect) I went to settings and it wouldn't let me change name controls or anythink. Host game doesn't work because i believe it is not done yet is that right? and same what Rikus said its a bit slow. last remor put on Dc was better, what happened? but this is really good work keep it up

you can change controls but you have to press save dont click the box, click the CHANGE button

When I click the change button nothing happens when I press ANY key. I cannot assign a new key, the box is empty. Btw. got into a server but was alone. Played a while to learn the game. A suddenly the game crashed, it just closed down leaving me back at the windows desktop. The music setting does not seem to be saved, at least it always show "cd music" in the setting, but the in game music played when I was on the server (and I had selected ingame music at some point and pressed save).

More info for your debug pleasure. No matter what setting I chose in scrolling, the game scrolled with the fast setting (the other option NOT called center). I deleted the game and installed it again. Now it seems to save and show my options, also the sound option, and now I play with center scrolling. An idea. Deactivate the mousepointer when playing unless it has a function! And, how do I deconnect from a server if Im done playing or want to play on another? Got a crash again. Game just closes with me back on the windows desktop.

hmm, the worst part of tremor still remains - the racecar movment! otherwise good job. btw did i mention the racecar movement really sux.

also the change keys does not work at all. it wont connect to the chat lobby at all, in any of the servers.

HEY - NOT IMPRESSED. started and it automatically downloaded an update. (ver.C) fair enough, quite good infact. after it finished (took a while on 56k), it re-ran, and started uploading ANOTHER update. (ver D) - stuff that. i just uninstalled this game. why not just posting the final when its done, rather than all these time-wasting betas.

This is a really cool game, I logged in but doesn't seem to work, I saw two players playing a agame but when I joined it turned stupid! And it can't connect to the main server to chat! AAHHHHH!!! How stupid is that!!?
