What was the dumbest thing you've done or said when you were in your newbie days?
I'd say that the dumbest thing I've done as a newbie was get snappy with a lot of clickers when I posted that peace of crap that I thought was the best game in the world, Vampire Boy. Urrg...that sucked. I even told Circy that he was "kinda sad..." God, that was dumb.
Anyway, laugh at yourselves or be sad!

-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.
I tried to post a game, and I posted the URL as where it existed on my computer. (C:/Windows/blah)

Haha Hayo, you could say the same applies to me. When I was new to KnP and later TGF I did not have an internet connection. Even if I had had (are you a stutter boy? ) one it would be unlikely that I would do something stupid. It is not in my nature to do so.
The stupidest thing I did when I was newbie...yes I was once, hard to believe I know...was register as muggus69 at Clickteam. I FORGET TO PUT A CAPITAL AT THE START! THEREFORE MY NAME IS NOT A PROPER NOUN DAMMIT!

Well, I never did anything stupid here when I had my newbie rating. I don't think I ever went onto the boards until by rating was "normal member".
The dumbest thing I ever did as a newbie happened rather on the Clickteam forums:
After reading the rules for the File Archive, I remembered it saying that you cannot use all capital letters in your topic's title and the title must be specific. I saw someone post something on the File Archive saying "HELP ME!!!"(or something like that) and decided it was a smart idea to tell on them. To make things dumber, I replied to the topic that I was telling on the guy. One of the admins there got upset and gave me a warning. LOL
I posted my game "Fantastico Mini Golf" and in the description said "This is the greatest game in the world - bar none". Then I got slated by nearly everybody when it turned out to be absolute shite.
Ah, Snerlin, you were supposed to read the rest of the FAQ that said 'Don't post solely to point out spelling/grammar mistakes' - the admins wouldn't mind if you said 'OH AND THIS GAME ROXXORS OLOLOL' as well.
I was lucky that before I could submit any game to TDC my site went down so I couldn't host it anymore. I'm pretty thankful for that, even though I didn't have a host left for 2 years

Probley the 2 most stupid things I did when I started at DC was submit my game "Pong Advence", tell people it was the best game here, & that it brang hours of fun for the entire famaly, then started making all these posts about telling people not to complain about my bad spelling. THEN stap at people who bashed my game, only because I thought it was a master piece, not knowing how bad it really did suck.
No I disagree. CT admins and moderators are just another users on our friends sites. Believe me we have our own ratings on sites where we are NOT considered friends.
I mean wtf was I thinking? This isn't really a n00b mistake but it's certainly stupid. The game was called "Running Duck Federation" and I used Koopas........ With shells. Where the hell did I get the idea that they are ducks?

The stupidiest thing I ever done when I first started at this site (I wasnt a newbie to Klik, just a noob to internet communities, which isnt always a bad thing) WAS to start a click team with...you guessed it...FIRE.

Another stupid thing, which I only did a few months ago, was to say Danjo's Classic Pac-man World's spin off game 'lacked originality.' Little did I know it was MEANT to be like the original. Worst of all was I am actually mates with the guy who did the graphics, and shouldve been aware of this game.

dumbest thing: i was Sonic on ct and psyklon soft on here(a few may remember, twas a while ago) and just existing was the worst part. then i had to go make psyklon soft and produce a bunch of crap and previews that were just concepts...that was the definition of noobie.
My dumbest thing when I started clicking was in 1997, I believe. I only had a sucky version of KnP from a bonus disc released by Maxis. It only allowed Active Objects, Backgrounds, and Quick Backgrounds to be made. It didn't even load music. I didn't know that the company is now ClickTeam, so I kept searching the internet for EuroPress.
Then, when I joined the CT forums, I promosied cash for a company (I wasn't even 10 at the time, BTW) that didn't even exist. The game was VaporWare.
I'm still a n00b on TDC. *Points to the left* Therefore, my dumbest thing is yet to come. Maybe it passed.
Oh, and a similar dumb thing was when I put-down MOO. That was MOO2 back then, too. NOT MOO3.

I was using Klik products for years before I had an internet connection, but I was still pretty noobish. I've got 4 or 5 years of experience behind me now so I like to think I've improved!
Anyway, Total-Klik was my first foray into the Klik community scene, and I remember sending ChrisD a truckload of private messages asking if he could add my URL to the developers page, and I also gave him the URLs to a couple of KnP games that I could make now in less than an hour. Needless to say, he never replied, or added my links.
Also, I used to go on FAInd's message board when they had their old red design and a forum that you didn't have to sign in to and anyone could have any name, and basically acted like a cheesy knob. Posting random absurd stuff, Phizzy style.
I tried to get some pics to my game download section WITHOUT HOST (path from your own PC). Nowadays I sometimes LMAO to that

When I was newbie on TDC I made an article: "3d sprite?" and there was written "I can't get working 3d sprite on my computer. (blahblahblah explaining my problem) How could I get it working" or something like that cos i thought that articles were like forum
i posted roms and emulators until i found out i was posting warez, admins didnt have a prob., i guess thats the dumbest thing i did when i was a newbie.
Well in 1994 using KNP (err I think it was 1994) the FIRST day I got KNP from my uncle, I made a crappy game using all lib gfx.. well I placed the GFX on the screen anyway then I found the run menu option and wondered why I couldn't do anything in my game!
Then after playing with that for a few hours (I added the default platform movement to my main character, bouncing ball to the enmies, after reading the manual lol becuase I still didnt have acess to the internet.... oh yeah and after adding more libs becuase I thought they made the game look cooler ) I then was running into the big problem of why my character fell through the platforms I thought it was a bug so after reading more of the manual, I read about the step through editor and eventually got a default platform movement guy walking around on lib platforms .
then I think a week later I had my first (but really crappy) game called kroz23123 or so (I am working on the theroy I just randomly typed a name into the save game dialog ), that was the worst piece of crap I think that has ever been made with a click product .
Ah the good old days .
One really noob thought I remember having is opening the game Romeo in KNP and wondering how the devil shot the pies at you!

Anyways, my most n00bish thing is probably when I wanted to post screenshots of my game (not at this forum), so I signed up for a free private file storage account (not understanding what private meant). I then posted a topic with the URLs of the images (which were clearly temporary). When people said they just got red x's, I accused them of hacking my account and deleting the images.
I nominate Brandon's latest newbie moment - stealing my avatar, WHICH I HAVE CONTROL TO! So now I've changed it and made him look like an idiot. HAR HAR HAR
It's kind of like watching a retarded kid in a wheelchair try to climb a flight of stairs, isn't it. I mean, it's hilarious, but also kind of sad when you realise we're sharing a gene pool.

You know, there used to be a noticeboard on the old TDC that said 'No flamewars for 12 days' and the numbers were drawn in chalk. Eventually it stayed at '0' days for a few months, and they forgot to take it when they moved. So I stole it. Haha.
i ripped open my old watch and wired out the speaker cables to the +/- parts of the watch back. it actually worked. better still if you then put the watch-back on a window or metal sheet it got quite loud.
another time i wired up some halogen lightbulbs to the speaker cable and they flashed to the beat! before fizzing out
