Now that Phizzy is gone I feel that perhaps I should return. No one probably remembers me, and that may be a good thing as my crap sucked (I was young whatya expect? ). I'm still no better at pixel art but with 2 years of graphic design under my belt I now have a better shot than just my old coding ways.
Anyone good at pixel-art that I can take pointers from? I'de love to make a 3/4 view zombie shooter but need some help. I figure I need an interactive piece in my portfolio. pm me and we'll chat on MSN sometime.
Thanks! Any links for learning pixel art? I mean I feel that I'm good at isometric because I got the system down locked and tight. three-quarters view also has rules of how much torso to feet ratio and so forth. I just don't know them.
ah, I get around GraphicsGale pretty damn nicely. I love it! I need help with the actual art though. When I am happy with my charactor sprite I will post it as my avatar and change this awful one lol.
I'm already on lighting but I am having a hard time deciding what outline of the hair I should keep black or how much outline to replace with the hair color. (breaking the line) Odd though, 4 years ago I was never able to make a character, now I found it not hard at all
Graphics gale is nice compared to Photoshop because of the preview animation, something that Photoshop does not do that well, (unless your me). I'm not really too familiar with GG otherwise, I know I did have some color issues with importing frames (each palette was different, and GG only picked up the first one, distorting the rest of the frames). If you are interested, I could show you around some more programs that will make life simple, that by the time you find someone to show you some more of the fine art portions, you'll be able to shell sprites out in hours instead of days.
