When there is only oppression and no freedom
Everything one does is considered some treason
When life is dire with no rhyme or reason
Those days we feel, hopeless is the season
When the day is dark and so is the night
Those days we give up the will to fight
When blind men cry though they cannot see
The world is then, as cruel as it can be
Living in a world of torment and pain,
How are we ever to stand up again?
When our shoulders are weary and weak,
How can we ever lift a future so bleak?
Even the shadows stare lifeless and cold
All we can do is hold on to our souls
But we feel our grip is now fading away
Cause here in hopelessness, here we lay
When sorrow is the very air we breathe
And agony encompasses all we see
Then life is dire with no rhyme or reason
Those days we feel, hopeless is the season
Yet now we rise, standing tall and proud
Against the dark storms and the clouds
Defying the thunder, our voices loud
Our minds now clear, unhindered by doubt
Too long have we laid useless in slumber
Of hopelessness and doubt, of blissful surrender
Though our shoulders are weary and the future still bleak
A new destiny for ourselves is what we shall seek
Fighting through life’s torment and pain,
We have hope, so are considered insane
Cause even when hopeless is the season,
Hope remains our solitary reason

I dunno if I can rap, though... Could be even better because of that.
Haha, I just tried the first line in a sort of countrified-rap... if I can muster enough courage to put that in front of other klikers I may do it.
you should do it old school style, you know like accenting the end of every sentence. id mark.
as for the original poem, i think it has a very good message, its kind of similar to the racism message i try to preach, something along the lines of racism mainly getting its power from the people that try to stop it. when we think that having different times of the year dedicated to a certian group of people, its only defending the opinion that they are different from everyone else. well i thought it was kind of similar.
Now for a poem, so's I'll fit in. Also, deviantwatching was only caught once by the spell checker, and that was the second time, not the first:
T-D-C, it's where to be,
with the people and my homies and community.
The games are really fun,
chatting all day's number one,
I spend lots of time around here and I've only just begun.
Kinda like a rap, but I'm now uninspired.
*dashes away to the sleeping community project which needs people to make tilesets for the level editor i'm making*
The Community Project
Nothin but fun
We all sit
At our comps
Being together
To make an awsome game
That no one'll play
If we don't get it done
So community,
Let's hold together
Please!
Meh, it was hard to make a poem for Community project, as those two words are hard to rhyme.
