When people make a thread like this it's usually a way of screaming: "HEY! I feel like I've just gotten treated like CRAP! Does anyone on this site even care anymore?!?!?"
When a person makes a goodbye post, it's usually a sign that the person DOES still care, but just feels like the "relationship" with the community has been hurt by something, or in this case many things. People don't actually LEAVE the community until they reach a point where they don't need to make a "goodbye" post anymore. Goodbye threads are like little breakups leading to the big breakup, and the big breakup happens without incident, without drama, without a thread announcing it.
LIJI, I agree with some of your points. But you probably don't need (or want) to leave the community completely, but maybe you should change the way you look at it. If things at the DC are really bothering you, maybe it's just time to step back and get a fresh outlook on things. It's actually probably a sign that it's time for the DC to be a much smaller part of your life. I check the DC now maybe once or twice a day. I used to check it all day long. Sometimes people just slowly grow out of things.

It was something about Ashley breaking the NDA he was bound to as a betatester for Clickteam. But I agree that LIJI can be a bit overzealous about Scirra and Construct, although some of the things he did amused me quite a bit. (not the forum drama, but things outside TDC)

Well Kids do have a slightly more black and white view on the world. If Liji decided that whatever activities Scirra have done is wrong then the whole concept of construct is tainted.
The fact that the rest of us haven't condemned them in the same way as he has means we actually support them. (in his mind) There is no grey area here. If we use construct we are promoting illegal activities.

You'll both be back TDC is too addictive! Frustrations aside in regards to arguments and Scirra, you are one talented guy. It would be a shame to lose you. But if you really feel strongly about TDC at the moment, resist the urge to pop back every couple of minutes

2) Codemonkey, no, I do not hate TDC. I hate the way it's handled.
3) Rikus, I'll still keep visiting TDC once in a while, as it is a mainstream website in the click community. I won't be an active member though.

To clear it up, I'm not leaving the click community or stop clicking. I only leave this very specific community site.
9) James, Noodle is not the only member left. See DavidN, Phizzy, Pete and other many members. Some of them made a "trendy" goodbye post like this. And anyway, this line was humorous so people won't take it so hard.
10) Andy, what if Construct was Marijuana? It's roughly comparable, and then your post would make no sense. If you use marijuana you do in fact support illegal activities. If you pirate software, you do in fact supprot illegal activities. Same goes to using Construct.
11) Xavi, you're talking complete crap, seriously. My programs are popular enough without TDC, and I haven't submitted one lately anyway.
12) Adam and Xavi, I did recently receive a temporary warning lately, but I made sure the admin will know that it is not his fault that I'm leaving and I've made this decision before the warning.

It's unfortunate that really theres little anything anyone can do about TDC because as long as their are rules that don't tie the website down to a dictatorship that no one wants to be apart of, you'll always have immature people seeking to ride the fine line of what's right and wrong, which always sparks debates and arguments, which split the community up.
It's kind of sad to think that such a small site is suffering from the same exact problem that the whole world is, but yet much larger websites are capable of sustaining themselves without being as strict.

I did, but a few people made some really good points as to what I was doing to contribute to how I was treated. I still think Adams a tard, but I'm willing to change my attitude and see how it effects the site. So far my results are pretty positive, so I've decided to stay for now.
Edit: That and this place is unfortunately a bit unnaturally addictive as Rikus clearly pointed out.

DavidN has a proper life now so that's okay, Pete was an ex-admin. I wouldn't come back here after giving up admin-ship. It'd be like being a copper in prison and Phizzy didn't leave, check the E3 Megaton thread.
And didn't David and Pete leave quite a long time ago?
