This is a TUTORIAL MFA of a simple, no-extensions-used arcade shooter game and a chance for beginners to learn while seeing some basic concepts in practice:
- Object rotation
- randomly-determined Values
- upgradeable Alterable Values that affect things like Turning Speed, Shot Speed, Shot Damage, and so on.
- basic alternatives to Alpha Channels and transparency effects.

UPDATE 28 Apr 2013: I included a second Frame, which helps the user create a "Gyruss" style arcade shooter. Events and conditions are fully-commented with helpful hints and so on. See the third screen shot below for a visual.

All events are commented in proper and plain English. It is suitable for beginners and novices, like myself.

Feel free to use this MFA as you see fit. However, I'd like to know if you have any questions or if you actually use the event structure to make a game...I'd love to play it!

I messed around a little bit today on a modified version of this tutorial that helps one create a "Gyruss" style shooter. It's still buggy, and I've not figured out the proper behaviour for AI ships. The scaling part is pretty much sorted out (things are smaller in the center of the screen and larger closer to the edge), but that's likely as finished as it will be. The rest is beyond me right now.

Look for an updated version of this to come along in the next few days, which will include a commented version of this Gyruss engine. AI might be solved by then...
