Hey Guys and Gals
I may or may not end up charging for this game, depending on how good it ends up, either way, I intend to make a separate slightly reduced version for free on TDC (or maybe the full version accessible by logging in with your TDC credentials in-game).
That said, I will be needing a bunch of beta testers for the game, all whom want to help will get a mention in the credits and free copies of the full retail version and any expansions and updates released.
I will be starting beta testing in a couple of weeks.
I will also be looking for level makers. Same applies, free copies and a mention in the credits.
Closer to release date I may also consider running a level creation competition with some nice prizes.

I'm interested too. I know I'm new around here and have a low post count, but I'm definitely not new to game design, level design and modding, and can prove it if necessary.
Regardless, I'll be keeping an eye on the project. It's lookin' good.

Awesome, the more the better!
Let me know what you also think of the adition of a brick editor?
I've coded evey property of all the bricks using qualifiers which switch on flags in the objects at the start of the frame, these flags then identify what the bricks can do.
Therefore I can easily add a brick editor at some point, player would simply be able to pick which combination of properties the brick has from a list.
Current planned properties list: (at least half of these already work)
Main properties
Affected by gravity
stops tank moving
stops gravity affected bricks passing
lasers may pass through (semi transparent)
is invisible
blocks explode radius 2 or less
blocks all explosions
Triggers
triggered by explosion radius 2 or less
triggered by explosion radius 3 or more
triggered by laser
triggered by firespread (next to burning brick)
triggered by fireball
triggered by water falling on
triggered by oil falling on
On trigger (can define one of these for each trigger)
Explodes with radius x
Dissapears
Reappears
shoots fireballs
pushed (moved)
adds ammo
adds energy
completes 1 level goal (all goals need to be completed to pass level)
lose game
catches on fire
As an example these are a couple of bricks ...
Dirt
stops tank moving
stops gravity affected bricks passing
triggered by explosion radius 2 or less
triggered by explosion radius 3 or more
triggered by laser
dissapears on all triggers
Water
Affected by gravity
stops tank moving
stops gravity affected bricks passing
lasers may pass through (semi transparent)
blocks explode radius 2 or less
triggered by fireball
triggered by explosion radius 3 or more
dissapears on all triggers
Frankencube (level ending brick)
stops tank moving
triggered by explosion radius 2 or less
triggered by explosion radius 3 or more
triggered by laser
triggered by fire
triggered by fireball
triggered by water
triggered by oil
completes 1 level goal on all triggers
What im getting at here is that if I make this editor and also enable users to add thier own sprite sheets for the bricks, would you beta testers / level makers, be keen to also build new cool custom bricks and help come up with new trigger ideas?

I believe I could come up with something new, both sprite and function -wise.

I like the idea of just making a list of properties. I wondered how you could do a brick editor...
