Friendly-Strike 3 is the worthy successor of its big brother Friendly-Strike 2. Itís still a 2D fast-paced shoot/platform game, and certainly one of the funniest ways to play with your friends

Fight you friends or the computer. Up to 4 players can join a game ! (Of course, you may play in cramped conditions but itís possible ).
And if you don't have any friends close to you at the moment, you can also play with the CPUs, with an advanced AI and 4 difficulty levels !

Choose a powerful weapon among the 48 available arms. 38 of them can be bought between the rounds using a menu, while the 10 other ones may appear in the arenas. These last ones are incredibly powerful. You can also use some items : Grenades, Napalm Grenads, Smoke Bombs, or even remote-controlled Rockets. There are also special items, but it's up to you to find them !

Friendly-Strike 3 also brings two major improvements :

-A powerful Arena Editor which allows you to create yourself your own friendly fight. Choose the background of your arena among 19 Worlds and put your blocks together to create your very own arena !

-Play Online with your friends and confront other players ! In addition, 2 players can play online on the same PC : that's another reason to invite your friends at home!

Be a smart strategist or big barbarian, itís up to you to choose! (Or notÖ)

Friendly-Strike 3 is a donation-ware : if you like this game, you can make a donation. Visit http://www.lepoussinnoir.net to do so.

Important : If you want to host a server, open the port 1203 and the port of your server.

Edit : version 1.2.5 available!

just played for a few minutes, my feedback:
great presentation, I love the editor and the possibility of playing online (even though I havent managed to do so because there arent any servers atm), many many maps, shooting is pretty fun, my only con is the aiming, I don't like aiming with the keyboard as it's not as precise and not as fast as aiming with the mouse.
I believe the game would benefit quite a lot if you could aim with the mouse.

Nonetheless it's a great game and easily the best online game made in mmf2 I played.

This game is extremely wellmade.. I can't imagine the time you spent on this. Truly amazing. The amount of weapons and maps... Just great.

This is obviously the gotw, but I feel sorry for HatMan which any other week would get it (from me, that is)..

The question is... how long before somebody gives it 0 stars to mess up its perfect position?

Or even worse, giving it 4 then trying to justify how a game of this quality doesn't deserve 5 stars?

Lets just hope that day will never come.

It's very laggy for me in America. But very fun to play with a friend!

Actualy Codemonkey a saw you on Le Poussin Noir server. It's in France. Someone should create a server in US, it will be "lagless" for you.

Just launch the FrSt3hoster, name your server, and clic on server->connect.
But if you want it work well, you have to open the port 1203 on your modem or gateway.

This really isn't my sort of game, but even though i don't like it its still amazingly coded and polished theres no way i could give it less than 4 stars!

Gameplay graphics could do with a touch up and I feel the controls could have been so much easier, like use a mouse to aim.

The sprite shading was a little mediocre at places, but this is a great fastpaced game that was very well coded.

Yeah I didn't like the colour of the font on the main menu, I wish I had rated it 4 stars instead, now

Not that I'm against people NOT giving a game 5 stars or anything, but when it's of this calibre... Adam, how do you feel, having rated this game 40% lower than the 3D voxel demonstration? I agree that a mouse would have made the game far more fun and stuff, but when you're having 4 player team games over the internet with a massive array of weapons... omg...

Problem with this website = people see games like this and end up comparing it to something like Counter Strike. We need a serious rethink about the rating system on this site.

i loved the game, and will be one a hang onto. i also think the mouse aim would have made the game far better.
from what i can see, mouse aim cant be put into this version as it stands. id say 99% of people wouldnt play with 2 or more people on 1 keyboard.

i hope camilero makes a new version of this, with 1 player and mouse aim.
graphics also could be improved.
the "installer argument" makes no difference to me.

The rating system is fine, most of the time. Just because you think the game is good doesn't mean everyone should. The rating system is to give your OPINION, everyone has a different one.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to change weapons on this game. Once you have finished buying, how to you select the gun instead of the default pistol?

The voxel demonstration was something I hadn't really seen before, and at the time impressed me hell of a lot more.

Pros- The game is coded extremely well and it's online. I can tell a lot of work went into the maps, weapons, etc.

Cons- The game play could use some work. I found myself very limited and being held back with the controls. I also was not fond of the idea that everyone is within the same screen. Perhaps in a fighter this would work, but I felt like it really did eliminate my options of where I could go.

With that said, the fact that it's online makes it at least 4 stars, but it is far from perfect. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a well made klik game that's online. Just know that the game play is lacking due to the controls.

even though it said there were ten players on the server, there were no games, and only 2 people in the chat. i still played it with the less than satisfactory cpu's. theres no joy in defeating a computer in a deathmatch. i want living breathing souls.

never-the-less i found it a good game.

i did not however like that it was a single screen and that the controls were all keyboard. lack of mouse aiming in a shooter is fail unless done very very very well.

if it was completely online, single person to a computer, mouse and key controls, it could be great.

audio, gameplay, and graphics presentations is where this shines.

make FS4. make it stronger, harder, faster. you have the technology. you can rebuild it.

I think for this game is quite good, the graphics are decent. It does get a little tiring playing computer players, it would be fun to try online play if there were enough people we could get online.

I think it would feel a lot more FUN if I could use the mouse to aim though. Even though this obviously wouldn't work for the few people who actually play multiplayer on the same keyboard.

Thank you all for your comments.

I just would like to explain myself about 2 ou 3 things (try^^):
-The aiming with the keyboard is a choise. It's make a lot of the game gameplay. I understand some of you don't like it and it's could be hard to take in hands, but the weapons stats haven't any reason to be with a mouse aiming, and nobody would like to play with 2, 3 or 4 players if they get used the mouse aiming. And a lot a people play with 2 or 3 players offline or online. It's one aim of Friendly-Strike. (It's possible to play with 2 players on the same PC online).

-"even though it said there were ten players on the server, there were no games, and only 2 people in the chat."
=> that mean that 9 players was in game, so not in the chat. just wait they finish their game ^^. Yes, I should show players in game...

It's a bit overhyped, but still very good. I wasn't impressed with the controls/speed of aiming. The online play might be a bit more fun if it wasn't laggy, but I'm not too fond of playing against people who do nothing but play, because you always get your buttocks whooped. :S (That's true of all online games, not necessarily this one yet.) Anyway, I give it a four out of five.

I like this game alot - it's a technical marvel and nobody can doubt the level of coding and the quality of this game, nobody.

My only gripe (and it's a biggy - enough to take a whole star off!) is the controls; they are so fiddly! It's obvious this game isn't a standard/straight shoot-em-up deathmatch game and this does help matters, but i just cannot help wonder how amazing it would be with mouse support!

Fantastic effort though, defo my GOTW!

What's that installer for?
And where is descritpion of controls in the game?

Posted by Jarl Fenrir 9th October, 2008

Maybe it is a very good klick game, but playing this is not as fun as playing Soladt

While I originally found the controls incredibly awkward(and they still are to some degree), once I got the hang of them I found it to be a really fun game. It has wonderfull production values, and you clearly put a lot of effort into it. Good job!

If we speak in words of truth, I like this more than soldat. Soldat gets old fast, I've played FS2 for 4 years now and still want to play more

Good game, a little overhyped though. I think it's not worth the 5/5. There's lots of minor glitches in game - I could write a long list. For example the aiming system annoys when moving in ladder or when swimming. Game needs an alternative aiming controls. Sometimes it's hard to separate background from ground. I hope you'll make an improved version of this.

The servers are full of French players who cannot speak English and matches are very laggy. Where's players from TDC? I have seen only Codemonkey while couple days.

Amazing!!! i loved that you made so many adjustable things. This soooo deserved its GOTW.

Posted by JMT 14th October, 2008

Well-made, fun game.

1) As others have noted, the controls are bad. I've no problem (personally) with keyboard-aiming but having the same keys used for both aiming AND climbing movement is very unpleasant / clumsy.

2) The english translation could also use a bit of work, though it's not a problem of surpassing importance.

Just played it and my comments:

- The controls are bad. You should use mouse for the aiming perhaps.

- The platform engine needs to be worked out more and the speed of the players are too fast in my opinion. Maybe make the game slower?

- I would appreciate better animations if you think of making FS4.

But overall, it's a really fun game when played online.

The mouse is a multiplayer game killer. I only have one mouse for my computer. My only gripe for this game is that I have big hands and I wish it had Joypad support. The computer gets crowded real quick when you have other players. A mouse in my case would limit me to online play.

It's very well made, but it really needs mouse support before it can be taken seriously as an online game. I understand that arrow-key aiming allows for multiple players on the same keyboard, but online play should take higher priority.

the grafic ist okay... but doesnt kill my ass

but, the rest is very well made, and i didnt see any bugs this is great

i like this game, fun to play with friends, i think the aiming with the keyboard is tricky, but once you get the hang of it it works fine, i think it adds a fun element to the game. does this game only work on windows? is there a mac version?

Is it possible to build mac version with MMF2? oO
