Timetravel Bloboid is all about a.. little purple dude who can make himself travel backwards in time while everything around him continues forward on the timeline. Your character must navigate a series of puzzles using this feature. You have a green timetravel bar that depletes as you use your timetravel skill.

The game is presented in a good enough fashion, although it could be improved. There really isn't a story, and the title screen and menu just get to the point. You press start, pick a level, play the level. I think with a little extra time spent on the story and level progression, the game may have been a bit more involved. It still stands alone as a very fun puzzle game however.

Gameplay is pretty good. The timetravel feature takes a little while to get used to, but once you do, its easy to use and essential to understand if you want to beat the puzzles. The puzzles are very tricky and usually very clever. They require precise movements and perfect timing. Just try the last level called "Tricky" to see what I mean! The only downfall of the gameplay is the delayed jump. There were several times that the half-second delay caused a spiked ball to hit me when I felt that I had pushed the button in time. This takes an adjustment on your part in planning your jumps, and makes many aspects of the puzzles much more difficult, you'll learn this as early as level 1.

The graphics are very stylized and have a real unique feel to them. They look almost like they are out of a comic book, and add a very needed sense of atmosphere.

The sound for this game was its weak point. I dont think there is any music, at least I never heard any. Sound effects are also few and far between. Several things don't have sounds at all. Maybe for the sequel more time will be given to this area of the game.

Lastability is this games strong point. The puzzles are very fun and its very easy to get back into the action after dying. You have unlimited tries, and you can restart almost immediatley after a mistake. Thanks to those good features, as well as a level select menu to provide variety, this game can easily keep you occupied for several hours. My only suggestion in this area would be to include a story mode, where the levels progress one after another. The level select feature is nice, but doesn't give you a sense of progress. At the very least, maybe a checkmark can appear by completed levels so that there is a reward of some kind.

Timetravel Bloboid is a very fun puzzle game with well designed levels and cute comic graphics. I like the concept and the original gameplay. Puzzle fans will appreciate the unlimited retrys (you'll need them), and level diversity. Recommended for puzzle fans.
