In short, this is probably one of the best side scrolling horror games made hands down.

Loosely based on the Friday the 13th films, this game features all but the gratuitous sex that made the series so popular. You play as Jason, a homicidal hockey masked undead maniac, your goal, kick ass and not bother about story.

The graphics are nothing to write home about, nothing is particularely well drawn, it's how these graphics were used that makes this such a gem. The game is set out to look like a beatemup. One of the reasons I like this game so much is that you first start out as a still semi-live Jason, after getting killed you turn all undead in the next section, sorta made me feel fuzzy inside. The custom death animations were quite fun for the most part, although some seem a little slack.

The gameplay for this game is far better than any other horror side scroller, mainly because it lasts so long and has two variable weapons to use most of the time. And for those of you who don't know how a horror side scroller works, you walk your character to another end of the screen, only to goto the next screen, all the while killing people along your way and interacting with background objects.

The sound is OK, its that simple, it could have been better, it could have been worse, but it has the nice ch ch ch feel. Also some nice splatter noises.

This game stands out amongst the pack because of it's length and it's various graphics, it also has a few little touches from the films, such as a little recreation of the stereo scene in Jason takes Manhatten. All in all, a very loveable game.
