Well... first of all I have to say I'm a big fan of Sonic games (infact, I still have my MD set up in the front room with Sonic 3 & knuckles plugged in)

Firstly, I understand this is a beta, and I'm writing this shortly after my first comment and having read all previous comments, however, it is my impression that our friend here doesn't want to make big changes to his code, and therefore, the final game will be much like this one.

Ergo, I must say that this game it tripe.
utter and complete 100% tripe.
I'm all for fan games, but be serious, compared with the competition you're nothing but a lightweight, take Magicgrafx attempts, each over 7Mb each, spanning many levels, okay the graphics and musics were ripped, but so? The engine was decent and the game was playable.
But what about this one?

I run on a Celeron 300Mhz, a system that, although old, plays 90% of click games at a reasonable speed, the only games so far I have noticed with slowdown is:
Tremor 4, Eternal Daughter (but still playable) and ofcource, Your game, why? Because your screen is massive and not a standard size (IE 320x200, 520x340 etc) and at any screen size more than 320x200, to run smoothly on any computer needs to use 16bit colour or less.

The slowdown on this was immense and caused so much slowdown that sonic couldn't even get up the first spring!
However, I didn't stop there, I went to my friends house and played it.

Faster computer, but what I found was no better, Bugs everywhere, moves that arn't quite right (hell, they arn't sonic moves at all by my standard) and using ripped graphics from SONIC ONE! you could atleast have used the much funkier looking S2 or S&k sprites.

Also, Calling it 'Sonic 4' is a bit of a rip, and using the Sega Logo, i'm sure they can sue you.

All in all, a lacklustre attempt that needs major overhauling in the basic engine (jumping, falling, moves, rings etc) and a screen size that allows for a better framerate.
