I might need a break
Posted 18th Jun 09, by MBK
Frustration is setting in, and I know this side wall jumping should be easy, and it would be if this was a normal platformer, but dealing with all the code conflicts is driving me a bit crazy.

I simply have to take a break from kliking for awhile unless inspiration hits. It's all just giving me a headache.
Such slow progress is infuriating. If only I were smarter and could work faster somehow. Maybe I should just post what I have now and let you guys help me with the side wall jumping? ... What do you all think? ... Would any of you understand what's going on in my code enough to add that?

I realise that I'll probably become a better more logical coder by meeting these challenges head on, but right now my brain is fried. I'm going to do something that requires no thought whatsoever for a few days, maybe even a week, maybe 2! ... hmm, maybe I should play minesweeper lol ... I'll probably just jump on Halo 2 though, or do something outside, maybe get the blood flowing ... gotta put off some bug bombs tomorrow anyway, damned ants are invading the house, they keep showing up everywhere.

Are you working on this with another person?

It would help you to get the assistance of another great coder on the site, to give you fresh perspective and motivation.

Making a break is always good. Good luck.

@jthongbai: nope, I'm alone .. so very alone

@Sire: Yea, the break lasted for a shorter time than I thought though ......... seeing as how a small miracle just happened today and inspiration hit.
As soon as it did I jumped back on the code and got side wall jumping working .. maybe not perfectly, but it's working. I'm going to test it a little more and hope there's no bugs, then I guess I'll upload it for you guys.
Oh wait, I should add another tall wall and test jumping back and forth first. It's gonna be sweet.

Thank You for the support guys!
