Star Beast Demo
Posted 5th May 09, by Ravi Jayant
Finally... what all you guys have been waiting for!

Image

The demo for Star Beast. We wanted to enter in a competition my college was having so we decided to submit a demo of this game. While we were working on a playable demo, I decided to release it here, as well.

Image

Use the Arrow Keys to Move, Control to Shoot, Shift for Bombs, Number keys 1-5 to Change Weapons, and Space for Coolant.

To fully enjoy this game, be sure to read the read me text included with the download. Be sure to install the fonts, as well.

Its kinda big... but I dunno... I hope you guys still take the time to check it out... I just worked really hard on it and if people get turned off because of the size... that is kind of dis-heartening Image BUT cool I'm glad one person is downloading it (so far) lol

That was actually quite good!

But why are there 2 identical .exes in the download? I ran both and saw no difference between the 2.
Pressing CTRL+Y to change to joystick worked during gameplay but the menu can only be controlled via keyboard? On a game like this you should ensure full controller compatibility.
I don't know if I broke the game but the last half of the demo level had no enemies and the boss did nothing. It was animated but didn't attack.

But on the positive side of things the sound and music are really good. The graphics are great too, though I think you should use alpha channels and antialias some of the background graphics.
I liked this and I'll look forward to the full release fo sho

hmmm really? I played it and it seems to be just fine... and you are right, the boss does nothing at the moment... I know what I want it to do... but I don't know how I am going to get it to work in the engine haha
