ZOMBIES NOW

The dead are awake and they've decided they want to eat your flesh and your innards and stuff.

Do you like the tagline?
Most of you know Zombies Now, I released a demo of it a few months ago. Well much has changed since then. As well as a rehash and overall improvement of some of the graphics, new weapons have been added and work has started on new enemies such as dogs and crows (so sue me Capcom.)

Features
# More detailed graphics
# Rehashed title/menu screens
# New weapons, 8 in all
# New enemies, dogs and crows in progress
# More gore, blow zombies heads off, etc
# New sounds, moaning zombies, assorted splats, etc
# Directional shadows
# Different surface properties (e.g. rock, metal, stone)
# Aiming system, the longer you take for a shot, the more likely a fatal hit

Weapons
# Pistol - crappy default weapon
# Shotgun - the old favourite
# Machinegun - rapid-fire slaughter
# Flamethrower - roast zombies with ease
# Bazooka - portable rocket propelled grenade launcher
# Minigun - powerful rapid-fire gatling gun with large spread
# Magnum - blows a zombies head clean off
# Chainsaw - classic zombie killing hardware

So basically what this stuff means is I've nearly finished the first level (which is the base engine for the whole game) and can start work on the next, which shouldn't take anywhere near as long now the engine is almost complete.

I kept adding a lot of little details, cos I'm extrememly pedantic. Stuff like shooting rocks has different effects than shooting wood or metal for example. Bullets might even ricochet off metal. I added directional shadows that move depending on where the lighting is.

Most important of all is the new weapons. Nobody will get bored of blowing zombies' heads off with the magnum, or ripping them apart with the chainsaw. Another thing I added is a rather slight aiming system that will probably go unnoticed. What this means is the longer you stay still and aim at a zombie, the more likely you are to deliver a fatal hit. It only takes a second or two to aim, but it can make a difference.

Anyway, that's enough information, here are a bunch of screenshots to whet your appetites, hope you like em.
