Wow many years have past since I last used this site and I thought it'd be really neat to come back and use it as a secret-ish place for a dev-log. Hopefully it'll help me keep on track and note down stuff I want to do with this bonkers game.
So I'm revisiting a crappy game I made/launched nearly a decade ago. I'm completely remaking from the ground up, with my original vision and without any publisher pressure.
Prototype Gameplay:
So as you can see, it's basically a run-n-gun, wrapped in my weird emo artstyle, with a massive splattering of ADHD. I'm making this as I originally visioned it many moons back. Basic premise is to get to the end of the stage, destorying enemies along your way.
There is 8 weapons and 3 transformations currently plopped into the game, a combo meter that helps increase your score for higher ranks. Plus got many cool little gimmicks like rockets, balloons, gamble boxes etc.
Basically throwing everything at the wall and see what sticks.

So basically this is where I'm at. I'm spending November just making my base engine and smashing in all the cool stuff I want, and then around December onwards, it's time to make levels and bosses, all the fun stuff. Aiming for a April release, to hopefully tie in with the 10 year anniversary of the original crappy version's launch.
It's absolutely crazy to look back on the stuff I made when I was in school/college. It's also crazy to think now I've got games on consoles and have worked on Cuphead. Although the indie game scene is completely changing and I want to leave it as a professional job, it's nice to kinda make this as my final main project.
