NOTE: I am always looking for people to help with this project. While it's being covered all by myself, a good coder could be a time lifesaver, and I might even get multiplayer in if you're able to do it, and you would be forever thankful. If you would like to help PLEASE contact me through here or by email/steam:

Frayed Air is a survival experience that’s been in conceptual thought for a long time. The first preview was posted years ago but was sceptical if the project could run efficiently. Now the project is back and this time it’s coming.

The game is about surviving in the city as long as you can, no where is safe and you must explore the world and ration everything that you find. You can only win the game by finding an exit point with a final showdown with the enemies around you, however the earlier you leave the worst score you get. You must stay as long as you can handle it and leave alive, if you die you STAY dead and you lose all hopes for a final score. The longer you stay, the harder it becomes.

You create your very own custom character with the freedom to dress and wargear up as you like with the items you find throughout the city. You travel the city by a maples grid hoping to add to your collection of survivability. Each area is randomly generated, maybe a supply drop… or an enemy ambush.

Although I would’ve like the game to have multiplayer, it’s complicated enough for single player with all the various actions to commence, and data to hold. However since the game is scoring, you compete with other players as the best survivor possible, as well to show off your character’s visual appeal. There will be protection to prevent close gaming deaths, so don’t bother doing this.

FEATURES

- Hundreds of items and weapons. Expect guns and useful weapons to be uncommon.

- Various enemy types aside from the basic enemy. Each one adds to the challenge and requires different tactics to defeat each one.

Multiple locations from Hospitals to Alleyways & Rooftops to even the horrible inevitable sewer level. You might even encounter weather changes.

- Detailed Health. Limbs of your bodies have separate health and must be tended to. You will also need to constant stock on food & water and the occasional medicine.

The development stats of your character, add and build upon talents and realistic inspired fighting skills to breach through the hordes of enemies.

The skills of crafting to make your weapons through scraps and parts if you are having trouble finding weapons to add you.

- Difficulty. This is NOT a casual game, and while the start may be easy going you will play in fear of character death by the end. One life will MEAN one life.

- Survival Arenas. The end of the game and various events throughout your playthrough will encounter enemy surroundings in which you have to defend yourself from all sides from charging enemies.

UNDECIDED FEATURES

- Multiplayer. I’ve already explained earlier, but this game is a single player experience that your story can be shared with others.

- Bases and Vehicles. I have conceptual ideas for these twos but may be dropped to focus on the core of the game. They might exist in one form or another

- Editor. When you have the editor you will ruin the mystery of what to find and you will always have to make your character throughout the game.

- Multiple Characters. Detailing one character is hard enough, so you will only have one character per Frayed Air exe. But the level of detail will be worth the sacrifice.

- Achievements/Unlocks.

I hope you get to play this game one day but it will take some time. It will be limited but it the best effort possible out of the skills I’m able to do. The project will official be underway in a month while I finish some “other” things, but I will let you know the progress of the game and examples of features.

Overload

This project is going to be hard, It's going to be covered in so much detail that it be heart breaking if the game collapses with too much information.
I might need to test gameplay ideas in a short examples game to see if it can hold up well.

Since i'm not a coder, it's difficult with coming up with good ideas when I'm lacking multiplayer & good A.I (Frayed Air can work around these and be a great game with the right loopholes), so this test game might be something pretty simple.

In continuation of my old work. Here is what an perspective example of the game would look like.

It's not bird eye view or platformer camera, it's a mix of the two.

Please note this is only for camera purposes and the final game will not look like this.

Hello and welcome to the Frayed Air Devlog. For now my updated will be posted here as well as explanations to my features.

Eventually this may move to an official blog but this is to kickstart my work.

Although these are outdated, here are some quick doodles to tease the future of this project
