Just trialing page post numbers, something thats been requested a few times now...

The changes should be pretty obvious, theres page numbers at the bottom of the post pages, and page numbers in the main forum view too. I've added a view all page aswell, something a few other forums lack which I find kinda annoying.

Anyways, I'd just like everyones thoughts on it, or if you spot any bugs or have any suggestions for it..

Thanks, Club

It's better if you put the buttons on the top of the forum thread too

doesn't work well in netscape at all .

presumably doesn't like the stylesheets or something, the page numbering at the bottom is all mucked up (e.g. doesn't appear in boxes, instead each number comes up on a new line).

in general, personally i'm not fussed, either way is good, and it reduces the loadtime of larger posts which is good. i'm coding a new version of klik academy and i've made it so users can select how many posts they see on a page, maybe you could try doing this? that way everyone's happy.

if you're gonna keep it like this could you move the delete button for the admins as it's precariously close to the page numbers in the forum view

nice work club.

Splitting threads into pages sucks, annoys the hell out of me on other forums. It's cool there's a view all though.

I think you should be able to turn those pages on and off, it takes time to get used to it... (things like "where the **** is my post?") Also you should place the number buttons on the top of the page too...

I'd rather not have to put the numbers at the top too, it'd conciderably slow down the page load time.. But I'll see

I agree with Joe, get rid of the boxes and replace it with normal link text and seperators (i.e. 1 | 2 | 3)

A 'jump to first unread post' button would be handy.

I tried text links at first.. but they look butt-ugly =/

The boxes were the nicest I could find to work, anything else is a little too hard to see.. but I'll have a play around with them tomorrow

Slight calculation problem: when there are 29 replies (30 posts), you can choose the third page in the forum. That should only happen on 30 replies (31 posts) so you probably used a 'greater or equal' comparison somewhere, instead of just 'greater than'.

Unfortunately, Pete, they haven't made an input device that works with brain waves... but I think learning PHP and SQL and making an extension list in 3 weeks is fast enough for now.

When you reply you get sent to page 1, not the page you just posted on. I think that could be improved

Example:
New user replies to something for some reason.
New user does not know about page numbers.
New user sees post did not appear.
New user posts again.
New user posts again.
Everyone gets annoyed at triple-posting.

Add the page numbers at the top of the threads too. That way we dont have to scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BOTTOM TO GET TO THE NEXT PAGE!

Some more suggestions:
After you have posted a reply you go back to the first page of the thread Could you add something that redirects the user to the last page of the thread after posting?
Only display a "post reply" button on the last page.
