they say i'm shortsited but whatever the distance is i can't see anything, so yeah i need glasses. they're apparantly FCUK which i'm told is cool, but i just like them because fcuk looks like "fuck". i'd never use contacts because if i dropped them, i'd lose them forever, which would be fcuking annoying.
People shouldn't be this afraid of contacts. You get used to touching your eyes after a day and a half, unless you're someone lazy and stupid like my younger brother who goes "Oh, I want to try contacts!" every five months and then never uses them passed his trial pair. Unless you have a problem with contacts where as they make your eyes really itchy or dry, like my parents seem to have problems with.
And Pete, contacts are supposed to be expendable either every day or every other week. They're not a semi-permanent pair like glasses are. I pay about $20 per box of six, I think, which by the time I need to go get my eyes examined again will sum up to about the same amount as buying a pair of glasses. Or you can just put them in, ignore the doctor's warnings, and not take them out ever. I know a couple people who do that, but I like to take my contacts out to allow my eyes to breath. The eye doctor keeps telling me that I shouldn't wear mine for as long as I do because my eyes suffocate.
Otherwise I wear my glasses when I'm home over the weekends or just don't plan on going anywhere. I like wearing my contacts because, well, I feel I just look ten times better without glasses. I compare myself with Clark Kent versus Super Man. But right now I'm watching my spending money with tax and new car payments and stuff, and I haven't had a pair of contacts in a few months now. I need to schedule an eye doctor check up soon before I can get more.

LOL, Ashman's got a bit too much time on his hands.
I'm one of those guys who looked "cute" back in the old days when I actually bothered to comb my hair. I'm slightly short-sighted, but wearing glasses makes me look "intelligent and sophisticated" but also "nerdy".
So, I grew a goatee, and now, with glasses, I look "l33t hax0r-like". But I couldn't normally be bothered to wear glasses as much as comb my hair, so I just wear em during interviews, going to parties, meetings, embassies, anywhere important.
I'd get one of those red contact lenses, but all they have is pink :|.
