basicly, i want a number from 1 to -1 randomly blended from two other numbers from 1 to -1 with a a specified mutation rate

if you didn't get that i'll try to explain it:

i have two numbers, between 1 and -1, lets call them x and y, i dunno what value they have, just that they're in that range

i want a third number, z, also between 1 and -1, which is the average of x and y randomly modified by a specified number, a, that doesn't have to be in a specific range but preferably between 0 and 1, so that when it's 0, z = x + y / 2 and when it's 1, z = nothing even related to x or y, just random bullshit

(just type in 'random' where you want a random number between 1 and -1 in the algo)

thanks

(oh and it's not for klik, so no need to worry about math extensions or decimals or something)

You want two numbers as low as -1 with a range of two:

x = floor(random(3))-1
y = floor(random(3))-1

And the average of x and y modified by a:

z = ((x+y)/2)&a

As you're not saying which language I can't help you anymore
