As most of you should know the matrix revolutions is out soon, its looking to be incredible. You can see the theatrical trailer at www.thematrix.com if you havn't already, it looks really different to anything I've seen before.
Post with what you think about the upcoming film, and how much you are looking forward to it, I don't mind if anyone wishes to criticise it, as I know there are some strange people who don't like the matrix, how can you not like it? Anyhoo, post whatever.
Yeah, it does indeed look severely sweet. I saw Kill Bill Vol. 1 the other day, and it had trailers for Matrix Revolutions, and Return of the King, and they both looked amazing, and so was Kill Bill.
I only want to see Revolutions to find out what happens. i was a bit disappointed by Reloaded ;P

I am waiting for revolutiosn to see what happens next. I'm abit of an idiot so at parts I found the plot of Reloaded confusing, I hope Revolutions doesn't get too confusing

paul's right; i'm glad we haven't been forced to wait 3 years for the conclusion.
I _liked_ the fight scenes in Reloaded! Just viewed as a two-hour fight scene, it was one of the best films I've ever seen - I just refuse to get bogged down by such complications as "plot" <¦-) I just can't understand anything the Architect is saying.

about KM's problem: i'm guessing the smilie gets in the way of the script that makes his name into a link, so the whole damn thing is linkified. i'll ask shadow to change the DB if he's not busy tonight.
1. the fight scenes are too long and repetative
2. there is too much nonsensicle babble (the architect for example). I do like a bit of talk but i don't think it flowed very well
3. i was impressed by the first installment a lot more. reloaded didn't add any new material (apart from the sex scene, which was pointless and totally 'not sci-fi')

The oracle in Matrix Reloaded said "I only care about the future, and the only way to get there is together". In the trailer you see Neo talking to a spikey robot (more likely the boss of the Matrix) and he says "The porgram smith is over your control, you cant stop him but i can", Neo and the boss are going to make a deal (together), Neo will get rid of Agent smith and for return the boss will not destroy Xion.
That is what i think, and LOTR T.R.O.T.K i am looking forward as well.
Kill Bill is just a person in a racing suit, is that suppose to be a new style?
p.s any new of The Matrix Virus Twins in the 3rd film? (favourite charaters, as well as Agent Smith)
Actually I thaught the CG bits of morphius and the agent fighting on top of that truck on the motoway was abit dodgy, but apart from that I thaught they blended bullet time almost seemlesly into the scene.
he just did exactly what i expected him to do (and tried to avoid... but nope)

I was kinda disappointed with Matrix Reloaded, so i'm really not looking forward to Revolutions too much.
As for Lord of the rings Return of the king, I'm really looking forward to that.
I'm also looking forward to the next X-Men installment...whenever that may be...and Kill Bill vol. 2...I saw that the other day! Man it rocked!

Plus, the Freeway scene was good mind numbing entertainment. I think the overall problem with Reloaded was it lost it's novelty. The first was groundbreaking and thus we expected the same from the second, whereas all they could really do was build on top of what they had already done.
For originality, they should do bits of Revolutions with Cowboys or something. A dawn gunfight in bullet time....imagine the warm and fuzzy dodgyness!

So far Neo has been like Jesus of the Matrix. In the first one he died and came back to life, in the second movie there was a scene in Xion showing the people gathering around Neo because he was their 'saviour' as he 'saved' so many people from the Matrix and in the third movie Neo will sacrifice himself by destroying Smith and the Matrix. If the Matrix is destroyed with Neo in it then he dies also. No matter who he is.
One other thing, in the trailer Morpheus says about Neo 'He fights for all of us'. Its a bit similar to the whole Jesus thing of dying for all of us to save us from our sins.
yeah, i guess so.... but if Neo destroys himself and the Matrix how would the people of Xion be saved?
and the people in the matrix in the those red tubes would fall down and all be destroyed (you can see that happen in one of the trailers)

the people of zion would be saved if the matrix was destroyed since the machines would have no power source if the people still plugged in died since their mind was destroyed along with the matrix.
Sentinels even need to be charged up now and again you know. The people of zion are more important then those still plugged in

The reason I felt let down by Reloaded was that it simply didn't match the hype. We saw all those cool trailers... which showed you the only decent scenes in the film. It was a tribute to bad marketting everywhere.
They seem, thankfully, to have sacked the neanderthal publicists that ruined Reloaded now, and they cut all the scenes in the trailer JUST before they show you the cool parts. At least we needn't worry about the best scenes being spoilt this time.
Whether it will be any good or not still hangs in the balance, however. If you're after a film with wicked special effects and battle choreography, then you should like it no questions asked. If you want storyline, logic and epic as well (like me), then I would expect to be dissapointed. Those are the three areas of the Matrix which, try as they may (and do!), always fail.
I'm not usually this cynical, heh, but Reloaded has smashed my faith in the Matrix producers as much as Wind Waker did my faith in Nintendo.
Matrix reloaded was way to confusing (mainly because they couldnt top the brilliant twist in the first film so they just confuse the entire cinema audiance and hope there to confused to care).
Also after watching Kill Bill's crazy 88 ninja sword showdown the big neo smith face off looked a bit dull in comparison.
That said I have to admit what ive seen of matrix revolutions is pretty top notch but im looking forward to KILL BILL vol 2 a hell of a lot more.
A matrix in another matrix would be really bad. What if that is in another matrix? Maybe they'd have to keep freeing everyone until the really real world
anyone see the movie? I seen it yesterday at the very first showing. It was a big let down and the ending was pretty bad. Some questions were answered in the film but generally Revolutions was pretty bad

I'm a huge fan of the Matrix, and i've heard that Matrix fans will love it. Too bad i have to wait till the weekend to see it, when reloaded came out i saw it on the first night.
I diagree darkman, revolutions is my favourite one of the lot! I won't spoil by telling others what happens but to love it you've gotta understand exactly what is going on, like why agent smith dies etc etc
I saw it yesterday, and I have to say I didn't really think much of it. As I said before, I liked Reloaded, I don't think I'm "above" it or anything, but it seemed that there wasn't enough "everybody was kung fu fighting" action in it... even the fight between Smith and Neo wasn't that great.
Still, I know that some people think it was better than the second film, so who knows.
Neo and Trinity both die. The Matrix and machines still exist and another war could begin again.There really is no ending to the conflict between the machines and human race

The second was not as great as the first because the hero is no longer the underdog. You know he will win every fight, no matter how many Agent Smith's there is. And another thing, the plot digressed to much. What was the point of that sex scene that lasted God knows how many hours? And the part with Persephone and her husband? Surely they could have missed out those bore-a-thon scenes and added some relevant storyline (like why Neo in so in love with that woman).
Incidently, my favourite part of the first Matrix is the start of it. Where he doesn't know what is going on, and why he has been having those strange experiences. Great film, in my book.

The main reason why Revolutions wasn't as good as expected is that it went over the top with special effects and action. The fight with Smith wasn't great and in a way we all wanted to see Neo win the fight rather then sacrifice himself to stop Smith and save the people of Xion.
The film was supposed to end in a way whereby there could never be a sequel but it didnt since another war could begin again. The human race may be free from the Matrix but there will always be a struggle between man and machine.

I won't bitch much but I was pretty disappointed. I think they should have just not bothered after the 1st one, things were better left unsaid.
Given more time, the Movie would Kick arse. They rushed the ending. And to these two ppl who made it worse Screw You Tank and Oracle. Screw you for leaving!!

well, i saw the film today, and, yes, it's dissapointing. the first bit with the machines attacking zion is great, but there's so many of the bastards you kind of get the "what's the point in killing them" question popping up, like in Two Towers at Helm's Deep. anyway, trinity's death came as no surprise, and almost a relief. she's sooo boring! the end fight between smith and neo was too OTT... it's like they have to raise the bar higher each film with the fight scenes... why? the first film's fight scenes were brilliant, the exaggaration accomplishes little. the film's ending leaves so much unresolved. yay, no more war! what about all those still plugged into the matrix? what's stopping the machines going back and killing them all? they're not going to feel guilty about it. like paul says, it's ironic that this is NOT a proper ending at all. is neo even alive? we don't know. and, quite frankly, by the end, i didn't care.
one of the film's main weaknesses was the very small amount of time spent in the matrix itself. there's no slow mo, no bullet time in the "real world", and let's face it, is the matrix half as good without these?
but, to the director's credit, i suppose, how could you end it? i don't know what else the could have done. but certainly, the exectuion could have been so much better. the matrix was, is such a brilliant film, and you just leave the cinema with a sinking feeling. it could... SHOULD have been better. Revolutions is a waste of what could have been a trilogy of cinematic history. instead, it's return of the jedi all over again.

ah well. it's still a good film in it's own right, but its predecessors leave such stiff competition, you could never really expect it to better them. go see it if you havent already, just to compliment the first two films. prepare for dissapointment, though.
Remember that the robots keep their word because they're not human and can't lie unless programmed too. I thought the upside down fighting was cool though

i'm sorry, i have been waiting for this since I ever heard of it and has dissapointed me badly. The ending was rubbish, the last fight between Agent Smith andf Neo looked too silly to be evil, Although most of us knew Trinity was going to die but she is a main charater and i dont think she should of died.

at the end of the first film i wanted to see more action with neo beating the hell out of agents amongst others
so in the second film i got what i wanted.
i guess in the third film i wanted more of the same but i had to wait right until the very end to see neo back in the matrix and they fought in mid-air one on one (when there are tens of thousands of smiths standing still)
they say the output from the humans is """""""combined with a form of fusion"""""" which suggests that the energy is produced at such a high rate that you wouldnt need input like the sun for thousands of years
PS. Cameron diaz doesn't have an overbite ... and it's only Elizabeth Hurley that has cheek bones that far out

The actress that played the Oracle died before the third film. That really messes up your career.
Don't you think you're concentrating a bit on outward appearances? Remember CAM's a rubbish actress as well! (I just can't listen to that wooden line "I will not stand here and watch them die" from near the end of Matrix 2.)
At the end, the oracle said to that girl that they would see Neo again. I think that meant the next "the one".
I think the funniest bit was when Neo did that really really slow punch, you could see his fist mark in Smith's face just after he punched hime
Saw Matrix 3 on Friday, and it disappointed me. I don't care what people say, that is not an ending. An ending means that in no way can it start again. And it can (and will in 6 months time, some smartarse said at the end of the film).
I don't care what people say about Carrie Anne Moss either. She IS a horse and she DOES ruin the first part of the film. Stupid bitch. Why, every time Neo and that woman (still can't remember her name) see each other do they have an irrisistable urge to eat the other's face. That's not love, that's just craziness.

lol, i laughed at that bit too... so did my mate. i'd seen the episode of the simpsons where homer joins the softball team and watches himself hitting the ball in slowmo the day before, and it just reminded me of that.
maybe they should just replace the story with three hours of mindless beatings and killings. i would like that.
the reason i didnt like the second matrix that much is because they spent too much time out, as someone already said. im seeing revolutions tomorrow.

Finally saw it today. I thought it was a very good film, although I did feel a slight amount of disapointment.
I didn't like the fact there wasn't much in the way of the actual Matrix, and the cheesy happy ending was crappy, but the action was tight. I especially liked the one shot in the Neo/Smith fight where Neo punched Smith and it was shown in extreme slo-mo, Neo's hand hitting the rain drops and Smith's face buckling was very nice.

Revolutions was pretty good-- despite all the bad reviews... I thought it was a good ending to the trilogy. I think I picked up on all the hidden meanings
Well if Neo wasn't the One how could he destroy a Program (Smith) or Change him into a Virus? And Another thing are you guys sure that Neo is dead, because when in the end the matrix Bot is taking "dead" Neo away, and then it switches to Neo's "Program Seeing View" , You see a strong amount of light radiating from the body.

The first one I can explain. Firstly, Neo didn't destroy Smith, Deus Ex Machina (the big machine head thingy) did. When ever Smith replicated himself, I think that the Matrix lost control over that person or program, much in the same way that your machine won't let you open a virus infected file (if you have a half-decent VS, that is). Yet, since Neo was literally hardwired into the machines and NOT THE POWER PLANT as usual, Deus Ex Machina could recognise that changes that were being made, and reverse them, thus destroying Neo-Smith. These changes would be uniform amongst all the copies (the virus code), so the details would have been passed along to the Matrix, and all further copies of this code could be destroyed. Basically, it used Neo as a test file to find the virus, and created a virus definition.

Can't you see? My and my Dad figured out that the Architect is Bill Gates. He created a huge operating system (the Matrix, Windows), found out it had loads of bugs and had to make newer versions.
but noodle...the newer versions of the Matrix are designed with less flaws- newer versions of Windows usually have the same amount or more.

Agent Smith isn't English at all, but Hugo Weaving is, well, he puts on an American accent, and in real life he has an English accent. But Kris is right, Hugo is Nigerian.
Anyway, it is irrelevant.
