It would most likley be based around a technical term, and/or a mix of technical terms. Like 10baseT wire, the 10 stands for 10 Megabites persecond. Base for baseband. T for twisted pair. How GIG got made up, I dont know. But for making it up for the hell of it, I would say like... DECabyte.

because it isn't a real prefix and never will be. This thread is stupid. Why did I even read this? Answer: I didn't! Well, a few posts, but it generally sucked. I think 'thisthreadbytes' is suitable.
