Huzzah!

I guess I should probably start making a game then, huh? So far I've just been working on the engine.

Just added a video to my devlog thread showing my progress. Hopefully I can get some more videos on what is actually going on behind the scenes of my game, once it is a bit more complete.

Game of the Week Winner

Posted this here and also on the compo forum; if you want music for your game, just email me at boothman (at) gmail (dot) com. My SoundCloud page is http://soundcloud.com/normbo if you want to here what I've done before. There are a lot more unfinished tracks as well, some of which could possibly used in your game if it fits.
I won't be asking for any payment or share of the prize, just obviously credit where credit is due, and to retain ownership of the music.
Thanks,
Matt

I really shouldn't be spending my time working on a side project for this, but... I've had an idea for a tiny game I'd love to make - Does it matter if the game submitted is really short?

Sometimes the best video game experiences are quite short. Journey, for example!

I was having a similar thought myself...
I'm really busy now the school holidays have started (and when I'm not busy, I'm exhausted), so there's no way I'll be able to make a proper epic adventure like Zelda.
Instead, I was thinking I could try and do the opposite - intentionally make the environment really confined and claustrophobic, like a submarine or something (anyone seen "Grey Lady Down"?). Maybe have the oxygen supply running out, so time is a factor as well...

There's a board game called "Red November" that features a constantly-breaking submarine and a scramble for survival with a bunch of drunk gnomes...

Best of luck with your idea, Sketchy!

You don't say!

There's about one week left in The Buswick development period.

Check out the project devlogs, if you haven't! http://thebuswick.com/forums/forum/3

Unfortunately, due to some issues with my artist we were unable to complete enough content for our game to be submitted. I suppose I'll make a project page for the game soon instead, considering that we already have quite a bit of content written/planned, a small handful of concept art and voice actors cast . Perhaps next time. Here is a small, early peek.

Looking forward to seeing it progress!

Spawning cool projects is just as much a success for The Buswick as bringing in entries, as far as I'm concerned.
