so now that the 3d is out and there are already a lot of ads spamming TV has anyone of you tried it yet?

what do you think of it?

i saw they are remaking cave story for it in 3d OMFG!
there is an interview with PIXEL!!!!! on gamespot
first time i ever saw the man. how epic.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6298524.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=picks&tag=picks%3Bimg%3B9

also gamespot sucks at editing videos. they should hire me. tried to watch it at work but when pixel is dubbed im like SAY WHAAAAT? and had to turn up the volume and then they showed americans in interviews again and it was super loud of course. couldn't understand any single word pixel said - awful video editing, gamespot.

but yeh cave story 3d omfg

also looked at screenshots of ridge racer which i love for the psp. i remember people were WOWed by the graphics the 3ds got and like ITS LIKE GAMECUBE - i don't know PSP ridged racer still looks 100 times better than those ugly 3d screenshots i saw of it - leave me alone with soulless "its about GAMEPLAY" comments

It's not out here yet, but there's one at my local Best Buy.

I want one. Cosmo Black.

I was going to get one on launch (march 27th here I think,) but considering that there are no good launch titles I kind of gave up on it.

I'll definitely pick one up eventually though, as I know it will probably be better than the next 3-4 "current gen" consoles we will see.

Yea, the launch lineup is a typical launch lineup. If I were smart, I'd wait until the games I want come out.

I'd probably buy it for Paper Mario alone.

For a while I think people were talking about Kid Icarus being a launch title.

A long time ago (n64 days), Nintendo, alongside Treasure, developed Sin and Punishment on the N64. It is definitely the only Nintendo 64 game I have nothing but good things to say about. Kid Icarus, being a rail shooter, leads me to expect the same (or better) quality and fun factor that was exhibited by Sin and Punishment. I was going to buy a DS JUST to get this game on launch, given that I have $150 or so in Best Buy gift cards, but finding out that it was actually not a launch title made me second guess. The fact that the 3DS can't record video just made me want one even less - at least until the games come out.

I just hope it isn't bloated with crappy N64 games. I could care less about the OoT or Star Fox (unless it was the Snes one ) ports.

Should be coming in a firmware update soon.

Star Fox SNES was the first video game I believe I owned. It's simple looking, but it would be great in 3D!

Great! I kind of expected them to do something like that, but you never know.

When was this announced? I couldn't find any information on it just a few days ago

Pretty sure it was during Iwata's keynote at GDC.

Haven't really used a game boy or bought a game for 7 years, but after trying to work on enemy designs for Asunder, I've found myself rehashing tons of old castlevania & metroid games on my GBA that was lying around, so I got to thinking about buying a 3DS and some of the games I've missed then, to spark some extra creativity and ideas as a learning idea. I can't really keep developing as a game designer while staying aloof from modern gaming, so I'm pushing myself to buy something and start playing games again.

I got my hands on with some Pilotwings at Best Buy; it's a neat little system. Unfortunately, that's all it is right now. The initial support (Outside of Super Street Fighter IV) is pretty lackluster. I loved Pilotwings (SNES, never did get the 64 version), but nowadays its hard to support an entire game on that premise. I think I will be cancelling my preorder, until the software library improves in a year or two.

Plus I also preordered just to cash in on ebay, and that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

The platforming genre hasn't progressed since the 90s, unless you believe collectathons to be amazing.

I don't really like the "new" 2d style of games. The SNES/PS1 2d era was much more interesting. A lot of games look similarly styled now as artists are leaning towards styles that allow them to create faster.
