Greetings!

Short about SMBF: SMBF (Super Mario Bros Fusion) is an almost complete open "Super Mario Bros" engine, it's main function is to be a perfect replica of the real SMB for the NES, but there are many other things too such as morphball-powerups and walljump, double jump and similar things from other Mario games and some other games too, such as Kid Chameleon, Wario Land, Metroid etc.

The game: http://www.create-games.com/project.asp?id=1854

- A Super Mario Bros-Engine with some tweaks.

It has been long since I worked on this game, but I really want to complete what I started, but I need help as I'm kinda stuck at the moment.

I would like to recruit a dedicated CO-worker with good MMF2 skills, not only someone who is able to fix the current bugs but also someone who wants to be a member of a team that has made a great and open engine for other people to use.

If you want to contribute, please contact me in this thread or by PM and maybe we can work something out.

Here are some examples of the things that I need help with.

Known Issues:

Gameplay:

1. No Save System.

2. Stomp-sequence/Invincibility-sequence for extra score/lives is not yet implemented.

3. In World 1-1 the screen is following you both to the right and the left when it should only follow you to the right.

4. The player can walk/jump through Spike-Shooters.

5. Mini Mario has an issue with the wall jump ability.

6. One fireball from Fiery Mario can pass obstacles when the other fireball is exploding.

7. Taking mushrooms or other things that enlarges Mario when under an obstacle will make Mario "stuck", holding down the left or right button will often fix this.

8. Problem with the movement of multiple enemies of the same type, such as "Stalfos" from Zelda II.

9. No special animation or stop in movement for growing when taking a Mushroom or a Fire Flower.

Graphical:

1. In Brinstar, walking when the darkness is on causes some of the text to move in front of the darkness.

2. In Rice Beach, When pausing the screen it will cause a graphical glitch if the player is near the cave.

Some of your graphical glitches are obviously caused by text or counters being set to "display as background."" Try unchecking that in their properties and see if the glitches go away (such as the darkness in brinstar and the graphical glitch when paused).

Why don't you just ask for help and learn rather than expecting someone else to fix your errors for you? The entire mario 1 engine can be made in 1-3 hours if you're dedicated enough.

Thank you, I'll try that and see if it works.

I really don't expect anyone to do anything for me, I simply asked because I'm not really that dedicated and/or have enough time anymore.

Probably had a better chance of finding help before you admitted you weren't very dedicated! Can you expect someone else to be dedicated if you aren't yourself?

It's great to have a partner that can help, but if you can't find anyone, I'm sure everyone would be more than willing to help one issue at a time.

Do you still need a partner? I may be able to help, though I am working on a different mario engine.

If you put a million monkeys at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a Java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs.

The major problem I have is scripting the enemies so they work like in their original games.

I just made a post about the "Zelda II - Bot" enemy, you're more than welcome to check that out and see if you can help, it would be awesome!
