Thanks! I was thinking of redoing Buzz the squirrel, but neither of the download links work... Or for any other of your games, for that matter.
Do you have a suggestion?

All of my games are hosted here. I guess I should update those geocities links in my profile.

Sweet, thanks! You rule!

Oh yeah, and I think I'll be doing a remake of Tops the pig instead. I'll post screenshots as soon as I have something presentable.

I might seriously consider entering this competition, although I'm (supposed to be) pretty busy at the moment.

I'm thinking of remaking "Plasma Warrior" ( http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=6755 )
It's a great game already, but it has very retro graphics & gameplay, plus it's very short - leaving lot's of scope for improvement
Also, it wouldn't require a huge amount of coding - just a solid platform engine is all it needs really.

I just played through it again, taking screenshots, and stitching them all together to make a complete map...
...and then I looked on the download page, and saw that someone else had already done the same thing, and I could have saved myself half an hour

Are we allowed to team up?
Because I could sure use someone on music if that's the case.

Also, what's the difference between plotline and storyline? The rules don't exactly make it clear.

Sure thing!

There is a difference between a plotline and a storyline, even though they sound pretty much like the same thing.

A storyline is basically the events that happen within a novel, game, movie, etc. (e.g: Bob found a ball, bob kicked the ball, it exploded, and bob cried and laughed at the same time before developing a severe case of narcolepsy.)

The plotline is basically the meaning or underlay to a novel, game, movie, etc. (e.g: Bob is an 8 year old kid from somewhere in Indiana, and his mission is to find a ball.)

Hope that helps!

EDIT: Ack, Misspelling! D:

Plot and Story can be considered the same thing in one sense (especially if you append a "line" on the end of both), but if you aren't going to think of them as one, then I think you've got them switched there. Or at least not delineated.

Plot is the way the story progresses, the key happenings. (Bob from Indiana on a mission to find a ball. Meets Fred, makes friends, battle the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz) While a story is the plot skeleton with some meat put on--the point of that plot, what you're trying to say, the final result. (Bob lived a beautiful town in suburban Indiana whose residents learn that there's more to life than work by encountering the hijinx of Bob and Fred.) You can think of the story as the general stuff and the plot as the specific stuff.

You will not likely need to distinguish between them when making an MMF2 game.

If that's how you see it, that's fine. I can't say who's right, and I certainly don't want to cause a dispute so I'll leave it there. Eithor or, take your pick.

We're aren't anywhere near a dispute. I think the terms are so close that you could interpret them either way anyway. In any case, it's not too much of a concern for this competition, I think.

Alright, cool. Sounds like the guidelines are reasonably loose, which is just perfect for me.

Near or not, I didn't want to get too close. I probably should have said argument instead. But I digress, it's nothing huge. Carry on with la' game redoness!

Crap, MMF just decided to replace the cloud sprites with the character sprites and also make the game unplayable while it was at it. Luckily I backed the stuff up, but I still ended up losing the entire cutscene and a good chunk of the first level as well.

Just to show the kind of visual style I'm going for with my "Plasma Warrior" remake:
Image

I'm not spending long on any of it, or I know I'll never finish.
I'm also contemplating some kind of lighting system to make it a bit more atmospheric (and hide the general crappiness).

As far as gameplay goes, I'm basically keeping it the same, but I want to add a few extra areas, and lose the triangle-jumping - definitely don't want to be too ambitious though.
