does anybody know of a free midi to wav,or mp3 converter?

iTunes will do it for you. I believe VLC will too.

Actually, I don't know what that converter does, but I did download it. Never got around to installing it, I don't think. The YouTube converter works though.

Try searching for "midi renderer" instead of converter.

"MidiNight Express" and "Timidity" both look like they'd do the job.
Even Winamp will if you get the right plugins.

You look further down and in the second section of links, the very last one says Free Audio Converter.

Still too lazy to see if it does what you want.

Youtube downloader lets you convert previously downloaded files. I don't know if it will work, but if it does you can just as easily use another ffmpeg wrapper. I use audiovideotoexe from time to time. Not sure if it supports Midi.

Sketchy's idea sounds good.

I used to use Quicktime to convert midi to MP3, plus back then it had its own instrument library so it sounded better than normal midi. Garageband and Logic let you import midi and you can select the (very high quality) instruments yourself. But yea none of thems are free.
Though I have heard very good things about MidiNight Express too.

ok,midinight express had some wacky error.

but-stupid me-forgot that camstudio can record audio from speakers!
so I played the song from the program in which it was made and recorded it with camstudio.
then changed it from AVI to MP3 with format factory, then imported into audacity for proper editing
