On topic: I think ALL of tags should've been added. It would've been more interesting instead of so little and limited choices. In fact, there's really nothing that suits anyone except maybe the console tags. I only bought the cake and cardboard box because those two were probably the most suiting to me. ><

That's what I've been saying. Not to be a party-pooper, but this just makes it... not fun. It's like being able to pay for your own McDonald's. It's very freeing, and yet not as fun as when someone else buys you lunch.
But yea. I don't think I'll bother with these unless some really smart looking ones pop up but it would be nice if there was a static list and a smaller limited list that changes every week.

This is all kind of silly anyway. :\ What... exactly, is the use of having a strawberry by my username? It looks cluttered, it's less special, and it's pointless.
Well i think the tags are super great it just needs to be tweaked here and there. For example upped the pricing today and added some more tags but also I am going to ask flava to limit the number of tags displayed at a time.
I think 8 is a good number. The user will be able to select wich 8 are going to be displayed the others will still be there on their profile and you will be able to change it up and select other ones. Since if you look at peblos tagorama it does look to clutterd i think limiting it to wich ones you want displayed is a good solution.

holy crap i shoulda bought them all while i had the chance. thems some expensive crap right there.
edit: ummmm. the KlikCast Icon is in the store for -1 dcpoint and i bought it. and it GAVE me a point as well as the icon. lol
edit2: it also subtracted a point from my points spent.

Some tags are still special, like GOTW winner, Klikcast star, and VIP. I think OMC is the only one who has Guy With A Hat

The "fun" tags were more like recognition for doing something interesting and/or unique in the community. Not about saving up points and buying something everyone else could have if they had the points too.

So about the tag-hating, as in the idea that they aren't special anymore...
A: There can always be tags that only the admins will be able to give, beyond GOTM and Picture Me This
B: You couldn't have all these tags be privileges. To have to ask for a Wii Owner or PS3 or Xbox 360 Owner tag would have been dumb. That would also limit the amount of different tags you could own, because such a vast majority couldn't be moderated by admins very well.
C: Having other people decide when to give you tags and what tags to give would be kind of restrictive of your ability to express yourself with pictures.
I had better arguments than those, but I can't grasp them anymore. About ratings, other sites have similar things. They're like signatures because they let you express yourself. How is that not fun? Maybe we make custom ratings appear on the profiles as well, like they were a quote or something. OOH! We should let people buy new profile features! And someone make images that can be clicked on to link to other places. WE NEED HYPERLINKS! This place is so primitive...

You can already use your profile pic for that anyway, and you can't put whatever you want as a tag, they have to be approved tags. Since everyone else chooses from the same ones, you aren't really "expressing yourself." And besides, do you normally control every single aspect of a website you visit? Is it alll that important?
But meh. I'm not saying the idea should be abandoned or that it's even bad, I just think it's not quite as AWESOMEZORZ as people make it out to be...
