Hello!

I had an Athlon64 3800 with MMF2 Developer and upgraded to a Intel Core Duo e7200.
When I came back to continue my game making affairs, I noticed a huge performance drop, despite the better processor (same HD and GPU).

Is that a multi-core problem? I thought that maybe MMF2 uses one processor core only...

No this is not a multi core problem as i have a 2.4ghz quad core and everything runs awesomely.

MMF2 does only use one processor. It could indeed be a multicore problem. I don't know though.

Yup, that's the problem with multi-core. Unless the application specifically uses both cores, it's likely that it's just using one. CTRL-ALT-DEL and check how much CPU it uses to be sure.

But really, it's hard to say what's a better CPU these days. They may be able to do more work totalled up, but somehow these new multi-core CPUs don't seem to perform as well as they do in benchmark tests and all.

Yeah. It's better for gaming at least. Far Cry 2 runs on very high, and with my previous processor, it lagged on low.

Well, guess I will start again. Optimize my coding and stuff.

Thanks everyone!
I think I found the solution.
Disabling the V-sync option (wich worked fine on my previous PC) gave me a FPS boost.
Guess I'll even post a screenshot to celebrate. (the game will be 640x480 full screen)
