Happy New Years. I enjoyed WallE very much. There was a bit of satire with the laziness/fat thing, but it wasn't intended to be a political commentary or to make fun of anyone.

I watched Wall-e with my brothers on christmas night, every bit as good as I expected, although I'd have liked more of it to have been set on earth. Pixar/Disney always try to get a message across, I think they did a great job with this film. I also love it when the reject-bots follow Wall-e and Eve around making the Hello Dolly music in robot beeps <3

He did? Adam, I don't know where I saw it, but I read an interview with the producer/director/some sort of head honcho of WallE. The message he intended to get across is probably a bit different than what you think. I'll see if I can find it later...

I was sad when I saw that trailer because a working concept I had for a game one time involved OldManClayton flying via balloons. (Well, actually, miniature clones of FDK filled with helium...) I was worried they had stolen OMC! He has the same wide head... His last name is similar... (OMC's is Frednickers) Oh well...

Anywho, I though Toy Story 2 was neat. It's by far the best sequel to any movie I've ever seen. Disney ruins all of their franchises by making so many sequels.

Looking forward to 3. How long have we known it was in the works... 4, 5 years now?

Disney also make prequels, which are also pants. The Little Mermaid 3, for example. I was watching Sleeping Beauty the other night, and the standard of the animation and background art in that is so superior to Disney's modern day 2D animation, ever since computers started playing a bigger role their work looks cheaper, goofier and rushed.

Disney has really run out of ideas... and originality.

They've made sequels out the wazoo, and hardly any of them are worth watching! I thought the 2D movie era of Disney was ACTUALLY made out of pure art and magic, and now it's soiled. Just a company making tons of movies, all without that magic touch.

However... I thought The Incredibles was, well, INCREDIBLE... and it made a memory for me (partly because I played the game), but I don't recall anything better from there.

Let's face it... Disney is now "Dizzy".

I don't really think it's possible to run out of ideas, I just think it's possible to employ people who lack Imagination. I just hope their "Princess and the Frog" film is well animated.

Oh, I didn't realise there was footage released already:

Still, there's a cheap look to it. I think it's the lack of shading, and the fact that they colour every frame digitally nowadays

I don't associate Pixar with Disney. (though now I think Pixar was bought out by them) Pixar's creations are of top-notch quality, while Disney's are ho-hum. They say, "Disney-Pixar's" because Disney promotes/publishes/produces their films.

True, although Disney also have the Pixar-themed rides in their Parks, and produced the 2D animated series of Buzz Lightyear in Star Command (which I never watched- didn't appeal to me). Toy Story Mania is an awesome ride, with one killer of a line, good job my mum was patient enough to wait for it

Most Disney 3D animations are kinda lame, like Chicken Little. That had a lot of potential, and I really liked the main character design, but it just felt more like a film that should have been on kids TV as a series, like Jimmy Neutron. I've yet to watch Bolt, but I dislike most of the character designs in that, and only like the design of Bolt himself I did however, enjoy Meet the Robinsons, loved some of the concept art for that movie.

As for the Incredibles... I liked it, but it feels like quite a long film. I tend to prefer their "cuter" films, like Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and Wall-e.

Yea, I believe Disney owns the rights to Toy Story, but I don't know about the others. They are so closely tied together, though, that it doesn't make a difference whether they legally own them.

I don't watch Disney movies or cartoons. I watch Pixar, but no Disney. Too cheesy and hokey and whatever else you can think of to describe it.

Which (I'm guessing...) inspires your cute games? (plus those hilarious drawings? ) My fave was Streetwise.

And about that Princess movie... It's another fairy tale Disney made, (with cute little side animals, of course. >_< except it's... guess what... 3D.

Also yeah TK. That "Buzz lightyear" movie was Buzzed.

I don't have cable or satellite, but from what little I have seen of the Disney channel, it's gone WAY downhill. It's all preteen pop star hullabaloo that teaches little girls bad behavior. I miss the good olden days when you could go watch good cartoons on the Disney channel (not toon disney) at Gramma's house.

Highschool musical is unbearable. >_> And I've never even seen it.

Haha, think about how off-topic this is.

Camp rock in England has an entirely different meaning

Them concept arts are great. I want to say the first one looks Dali-ish but that's just a last resort term but I love the surreal nature of it all.

"Uwe Boll university" - love that quote, despite the fact i've not seen the Disney channel for about 10 years, though a stroll into any Disney store tells me all i need to know. High School Musical/Crap Rock both suck bad!

As for animation, i agree that the older, hand-drawn style was much more charming and much better than todays standards. Going off a slight tangent, one of my biggest gripes with The Simpsons these days is the computer aided animation (especially the off-character camera spinning thing they first introduced in Futurama - i hate that!). The older, series 3-7 style drawings were my fav. My other gripe is the quality of storylines and scripts - i think they suck too! And too reliant on celebrities!! Boooooooooooooo!!

Hand-drawn does have its own charm. Disney's animations are very noticably smooth and lifelike nowadays, but they don't have that charm anymore. The cartoon movies just aren't as innocent or something. Hard to explain. O_o

Haha, I'm going to try to get myself into this topic without reading too deep into previous posts, but I believe that classic Disney was amazing. Pixar still is, but Disney has completely lost my respect. Their last good movie on their own, was probably Brother Bear (not even the sequel). I loved all their classics, Lion King, Aladdin, Tarzan, The Aristocats, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Beauty and The Beast, Oliver and Company. Those were amazing times.

Pixar on the other hand, well and truly holds the initial spirit Walt Disney had when he actually created the classics we know and love. I love them.

Pixar is still the greatest. I have a feeling they will keep that certain something for a long while, too.

Walt Disney really was a true artist, an artist, who didn't copy off people's work.

I think Disney lost its magic when they upgraded to the 21st century. They once had adventure and magic, now it's just adventure. >:2

Just take a look at Sleeping Beauty. It has remarkable characters! The prince, Maleficent, And (No duh) Sleeping Beauty! It was all a big fairy tale that actually had a magic touch to it!

Now... Take Bolt for example. It's in the 21st century! Sky scrapers, a bustling city, cars out the you-know-what, all in ANOTHER one of Disneys sad, sad compilations, resembling a super dog who really thinks he has super powers.

WTH?!?!

Let's look at Cinderella. It was filled with memerable characters that people would remember throughout their life, (unless they had alzheimers. >_< rather than to remember it only for a short period and go "Bolt Who?"... whereas TIMELESS characters would STAY with you. I don't know how Disney did it, but they don't have it any more.

I so agree!

I used to love the song that Cockeral dude plays when they're all locked up in prison in Robin Hood. Great film!

That one song that sounds like the hamsterdance? That movie was fun, I remember liking the friar and when the chicken bowls everyone over like she's playing american football. Ah, good times.

The Hamster Dance is it, just sped up I hate it when songs are taken and ruined by cheap things like the hamster dance, and the crazy frog crap.
