I've searched some articles and alot of them are no help at all. WHAT is a good way for a simple and clean double jump?

Use an alterable value to count the number of jumps. When the player is on a platform, reset the value.

Seems pretty silly imo, to use an alterable value for double jump, if you're only going to need to track 2 values. On and off. I'd recommend flags.

Well, What part I can't seem to pick up is: How do you make the second jump? The first jump is bliss.
Ricky:I might use values cause of the triple jump. I've only seen it happen once in Heli attack 3. S'Good game man, s'good game. Edited by W3R3W00F

Are you using a custom made movement?

Well, just make sure a value is at 0.
val. = 0
+ pressing SPACE
+ jump-animation played (mayby falling anim. shouldnt be played)
----> jump again
----> set val. to 1
if you want triple jump:
val. = 1
+ pressing SPACE
+ jump-animation played (mayby falling anim. shouldnt be played)
----> jump again
----> set val. to 2
touching the floor
----> set val. to 0
Thats it!

Just use the same technique you use to jump in the first place, but activate it when the player is in mid air and presses jump for a second time.

Call me hard-to-teach, but I still don't fully understand the concept. Could you give an mfa example?

And here's a tutorial file for a full custom movement by DavidN (it also include double jump):

I use David's custom platform movement a lot. I think it's easier to modify during runtime than the PMO, and you can add/take away different features like double jumps with ease.
