I havent touched MMF for ages but I feel like playing around with it again. Now I don't know whats better. MMF 1.5 or MMF 2?

I think what makes MMF a really strong and great product are all those extensions you can use. The make life easy. I just love the lense plug in for example.

Now I remember when MMF 2 was new hardly any extensions were supported for it. Has this changed? Are there any great extensions for it?

Why should I stick to MMF 1.5 - why should I switch to MMF 2?

Please let me know

i believe there is alot of extensions new and old now supported for mmf2, i remember seeing things like lens on the extension list websites, paralaxer is a really cool one. i couldnt try that many tho because i was using the demo version, and it was impossible to use the ones with installers

There are quite a few extensions, but there are also a few other things to take into account. First, though I'm sure this isn't a problem for you since you haven't touched it in ages (), mid-way through a big project can be a bad time to switch. Also, if you don't use some of the features that MMF2 was created around, then there's no real reason I can think of to make yourself get used to the new interface. (I personally find some things about it annoying and unsmooth enough to not bother switching) Then there are things to take into account like stability and efficiency, both of which I'm sure MMF2 will eventually when out on, if it already hasn't.

Personally, I'm still going to use TGF1 until I have enough extra money to pay for other needs AND MMF2-- it's not a priority. However, I don't use things like HWA, Viewpoint objects, etc.

Lots of other things to think about too...

Most people, I think, would say to upgrade if you have the money. I'm just an old fart stuck in his TGF ways.

I switched to MMF2 mainly because of the new features and the new interface. Maybe you'd be interested in the Hardware Acceleration build they're working on? It's a really neat speed boost plus the benefit of using nice graphical effects. It's just not done yet.

As for extensions there's lot's if you ask me -> http://ext.neatwares.ath.cx/

The new perspective object is pretty cool MasterM. I remember you saying thats just the kinda thing you liked.

Ive not really been keeping up to date with extensions so I'm not really sure if all of MMF1.5's extensions have been ported over yet or if they are ever likely to be.

But MMF2 has some good ones of its own, and you can get an easy downloader app too.

MMF2 can do some stuff without plug-ins. And it has less bugs, and I assume formal WinVista support.

Not really worth the switch if you're happy with MMF1.5. The HWA Beta looks good, but till then, MMF2 is still pretty much the same as MMF1.5. I'd suggest you wait till MMF2.5 or MMF3 come out

Ohh... and the MMF2 picture editor is a lot better, IMHO. A few people don't like it, but I like how much easier it is to do animations in MMF2.

Construct can do a lot of things that MMF2 can't and it's cheaper, so it'd be a better choice if you're strictly waiting for only the HWA option.

MMF2>TGF2>MMF>TGF>C&C

That's how things go in my opinion. MMF2 seems far easier to use than the demo of MMF1 I downloaded many a' year ago. I'd get it. I never really had MMF - Only TGF - but there's no way I'd ever go back. MMF2 just does too much.

There's many extensions availiable now too. You can also use Fusionupdater to automate the task of installing them all.

Well to be honest, I started with Klik 'N' Play and then moved on to Mmf2. And then on to Developer. I've only had breif looks at Mmf1/Tgf so I really don't know how to compare

I think about the amount of different "objects" availiable in KNP, it was 7 or 8 or something

I have 235 extensions for Mmf2 at the moment and it makes me think about how far these products have come.

there are a 161+ extensions. 161 extensions come with the mmf fusion updater. there are also 3 extension packs available on clickteams site. as far as know almost all of the extensions are recreated or recompiled for mmf2. some things like fast loops are now built in. layers. etc etc etc. if you got 120$ layin around go for it. if youre not sure just download the demo first.
