i think TDC needs other gotw admins. it's not about being lazy in this thing, but much of us have a job. so i think there should be a new gotw admin, what do you guys think?

Updating the GOTW is fun for the first couple of weeks, but it gets extremely tedious to do it every week (at least for me anyway). So I don't think hiring "GOTW Admins" will solve any problems we have with updating the GOTW. If we hire another admin to do the GOTW then I think they'll probably get bored of updating it eventually and then the problem isn't really solved.
I'd much rather see a new system in place to make updating the GOTW quicker and easier for admins - but that depends on whether the other admins agree, and whether Clubby has enough time to do it (I can't do it as I didn't introduce the GOTW in the first place so I don't know how the system works exactly). That's just my opinion really.
GOTW doesn't take too long, it's just extremely annoying to do. I'd do it now, heck I'd do it a few days ago, but my internet is running at 2.5 Kbps download, and surprisingly about 10Kbps upload. Do you know how annoying it is to open a page at 2.5 Kbps, much less the dozens of pages needed to open GOTW?
(Amusing irony was that while doing the poll, my net connection messed it up and all three replies were "Not at all" for 5 minutes )

its more epic when theres close calls like lets say treasure hunt is 31(which it is) and bullet widget is 30(which is not) just a few votes can change the out come! but in this case like i said, treasure hunt has it in the bag, its to easy. cant wait to see how my game does.

Couldn't the current admins just take turns doing the GOTW? Like each person does it every 3 or 4 weeks (or however many admins there are), on a rotation?
Pretty sure we're waiting till Sunday to update GOTW so we can get back on the normal schedule this week, instead of having the updates at random times throughout the week. Yes, I will agree GOTW is tedious however. I'll update it tomorrow guys!
We do kinda do it on rotation, but since my bandwith quota ran out (and these fricking exams) and Circy went idle for a while, it's taking a while for the others to do it

We have to fill in a lot of forms, in order to make sure that everything is perfectly recorded within the TDC database. Then we have to examine every GOTW candidate to make sure they qualify with the strict standards, as well as the profiles of all the members who voted for GOTW to make sure there's no cheating. And then we have to hand out them trophies to the previous winner, which some admins tend to forget.
It's a long bureaucratic process to make sure that every GOTW is in top form, but naturally, I try to screw it up

A part of me can't imagine that clubsoft is the ONLY admin with some web page proggramming experience. I think there might be another one, but if thats the case. I think that looking for someone with the experience as clubsoft (or close to it) might help things a little bit.

well i have various programming experience, but the site is coded in asp and some java. neither of which i have had the time to learn yet. php is my medium for web programming.
Cecil, if you recode the whole TDC into TDC 3.0 (or was 4?) into something that eats up less bandwidth, you're guaranteed to be given an admin position. That's how Clubsoft became admin

i believe it would be 6.0 the site is at 5.32 atm.
and an entire site recode would be a massive job for one person (god bless clubby). if it was a collaborative it would be more doable. as much as i would like a php version of tdc, i barely have time for my own projects.
Bad news guys, GOTW is borked. If I change anything I'm pretty sure it's gonna get even more messed up! Made a post in the admin forums, so hopefully we can get it sorted ASAP!
