Hey folks, So mitch has been getting some attention good or bad from folks, so i think now would be the best time to spin this following idea around.
I have had this idea for a Daily Click Webcomic staring Mitch for many years now. I wont go into details of the actual story and characters but I have been wanting to do something with this guy for ages.
To get mitch a face lift and create a whole universe for him and some other main characters I am looking for someone that has the ability to bring mitch and this story to life while re-inventing how he looks but keeping that mitch kick ass characteristics we all know and love/hate
If you think you have some drawing skills -and- the time a couple of times a month to work on this with me, story or character design ideas all welcome this would be something we can equally work on.
The plan is to debut a web-comic once a month for starters and have the new characters and the new mitch put on a new top banner for the dc.
If you are interested please dc mail me right now. Like i said i have been wanting to do this for many years but I think the time is finally ready for it to inject mitch with some personality and a new design.

Has anyone seen the garfield comic maker? It's a flash game that was floating around awhile back... I almost made one just for me to use, so I could make easy OldManClayton comics.
MacAdam, i like that idea! Do you remember the crappy cartoon maker software you could buy in the 90's? I had the Simpsons cartoon maker free with my dad's old Pentium 100MHz, man it was rubbish!

What about getting rid of Mitch, creating a new mascot and then create a webcomic based on it ?
I just don't like mitch, a soldier with a badass looking face and sunglasses just dont fit a click site at all, and a family oriented one.
Even worse it fails at inspiring any kind of sympathy or any feeling at all.
That's because it seems like no one here knows who he is and why he's there. We truly have lost our connection with our history. Maybe we should take down the statue of liberty then too, or the big ben clock tower. I never did like either of them that much.
The Statue of Liberty is made out of copper and was a gift from the French. We gave them a bunch of potatoes to help them out of a famine, they gave use a statue and French fries. Later, we invented ketchup to compliment their fries and clean the copper statue they gave us.
You can claim me for being something I'm not... so just because I admit that you made those claims about me, doesn't mean I agree with them. So what you said makes little sense, I'm sorry.

They don't fight because of dislike or disagreement, they do it because they're secretly pals trying to rouse a response out of everyone else... which means I too have fallen into their trap. A clever operation, it is.
Actually Mitch before heading the DC he was part of the Kick-Ass site (AKA the short lived site after the ap-zone and right before the dc

Why not just make the mascot a png of gif and add it as a profile option to change it to whatever you want. Mitch can still be the official heart warming mascot of the veterans while the newer members can pretend their mascot is the official one. Then when it comes to the comics, then the characters themselves can fight about this rather then the members of TDC themselves.

It's true, there's only about 6-7 people in the entire community I don't get along so well with. ANYWAY back on topic: Is a new mascot contest possible? If so I'm up for entering, and Ill make it as sickly and as cute as possible

Well, easiest solution is to not let is bug you. The reason people start to scrutinize your words is because you scrutinize theirs or do some other sort of crazy thing; or they just start being a jerk for no reason. I say no to a contest, because I wouldn't know which of my bajillion characters to submit!
If you're going to do a new mascot contest, then I think it should be done in conjunction with my idea. It can't be that hard, it's just a branch off the skin system. You'd need to edit a lot of the site logos so that you can replace Mitch when any mascot of your choice, but it's an investment worth making if it'll make most people happy.
It's not like we're electing president here. We don't need to force feed a single mascot on everyone, even if the majority voted for him.

Actually, it's the exact opposite right now. This is one of the most active topics I've participated in, in a long time. The TDC is very much alive, especially if we're willing to get this much into a topic as simple as a mascot change.
