Yep, these possibly confirm that the new Mega Man game is coming, is for WiiWare, and has 8-bit graphics. Apparently, there might be a female Robot Master as well.

I say possibly because these days, people are getting better and better at hoaxes. I still think it is absolutely true, however.

Kotaku had this, I don't think it's a hoax - but what it is, is awesome.

This looks awesome, but I'm looking more forward to what InafKing said about "other RM Wiiware titles". MML3?

Awesome. I've never played and enjoyed a Megaman game but I might get this just to support WiiWare

This was a good way for them to avoid the whole Cataclysm thing (Where the Classic series ended and the X series picked up). Though I do wonder if there's going to be a Zero cameo in this game (Zero killed the first Megaman), maybe even an X cameo.

Either way, I'm definitely getting this!

Maybe, not everyone does... but megaman does pop up alot on the boards, so enough do. It is officially confirmed. I would've loved this whether it was 8 bit or 2.5D. Rumors are that it has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the X series, and I'm inclined to believe them. Whoa, wait a minute-- you believe the cataclysm theory? O_o

Yeps, Mega Man X is far in the future, and Dr. Light is indeed dead. He has holograms hidden in the strangest places all over the world for X to get special armor upgrades.

I hope Mega Man 9 plays nice and smooth. And utilizes advanced new graphics techniques like parallax scrolling.

I sincerely doubt there will be parallax scrolling since this is an 8-bit NES emulating game.

Actually it ended in the 32 bit era with Megaman 8 on the PSX.

I dunno, I think the NES ones were the most recognizable. I don't recall MM7 (SNES) being in wide distribution, and I never actually got around to playing 8 (The X series was my Favorite at the time, though that's been replace by the Zero series). Capcom seems to be on a nostalgia kick lately.

I dunno. It is kind of odd. I would have rather had a 2.5D modernized one, but I'm cool with it. I liked the original series, but EXE was my favorite. (Don't kill me!) Yes, the screenie by blackbeltdude was fortunately fake.

Wow! Hold one here! The graphics in this new Megaman... They are 8-bit? identical to Megaman 1-6? I always wished Nintendo would make a new NES game... This is as close as I'll get to that! !!!!

And why exactly? Is it because it doesn't suit your tastes? I'd say that would be it, because that's what it all comes down to anyways. Tastes.

I'd call making a new 8-bit Megaman game as "going back to basics", and I believe it will be awesome.

The game is coming to WiiWare and not Virtual Console. It is not an emulated NES game, it's a WiiWare game with 8-bit graphics. Parallaxing is fully possible, as well as other modernizations. I'd like to see NES music with more than the 5 original channels.

On the storyside of things. I think that maybe, just maaybee we'll get to see an 8-bit incarnation of Zero. Zero was created at the very end of the Classic series, he was 'revealed' in the "Power Fighters" game as Wily's final creation. He could very well be featured as a boss, since he was originally evil (turned good by sigma who ironically turned evil because of it).

I'm so looking forward to this game.

Er... yes it's wiiware and therefore parallaxing is possible... But they're doing 8bit. Why in the world would they make something so out of place as parallax scrolling in a NES game? O_o Besides, in an interview, they said it was an NES game, no fancy tricks. Unless, somehow NES could do parallax, .

I believe NES did paralax in Mega Man 3 in Gemini Man's stage.
