My favorite game character is richter belmont from castlevania, his cool and always kicks draculas ass!

Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid The Twin snakes cause he's a badass, and Ike from Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn cause he's huge and could rip a tank apart with his hands, or sword whichever comes first.

Zidane from Final fantasy 9 because he is such a turn around from the main characters in the previous few games, it's almost impossible not to like the guy.
The early relationship with Steiner, Vivi and Garnet is pretty funny especially the not so secretly trying to get into Garnets knickers right under Steiner's nose.
I found out yesterday whilst playing the Orange box (HL2 Episode 1 more specifically) that Alyx isn't actually invincible but damn she takes a beating before she goes down.
Don't ever say Link, he's not a character at all. The developers even say he's the "silent protagonist", so if you say he's your favourite you lack imagination.

You can't lack imagination for liking a character that doesn't speak, if anything you must have some creativity to form some variety of love for the character.
Anyway, why can't he be a character just because he doesn't speak words? Thats almost like an insult to a mute.
Link is just a blank canvas for you to project your own image onto. Liking Link is tantamount to liking a white piece of paper, just because you could imagine something cool on it. Unless you like his green clothes or something, there's nothing really to like.

the only thing that would make link any less of a gaming character is that there isn't only one link.
link is a completely different person in various zelda games.

that would make ganon more of a character than link or zelda for that matter.

I remember in Zelda 64, The Gorons wanted to hug Link, and Link screamed and ran away. I laughed really hard. He may not speak, but his facial expressions and screams are all the personality I need.
Okay then, whatever, you're obviously all happy with your Mr. Link. You obviously see characters a different way to what I do; I see chracters as personality, and you all see them as style, design, etc.
For the record, my favourite character's got to be Cloud, or Earthworm Jim.

About that - Have you actually seen his face? I'm not a huge Halo fan but I heard when you beat Halo 3 you get to see his face - I beat the game on easy or normal or something and didn't see it - I was dragged out of the room during the ending scene tho - Two-year-old's are so much fun
No one has said mario, bowser, kirby, samus, alucard, sonic, crash, agent 47, spyro, seperioth, ridley, the mother brain, krain, kratos, ares, zues, megaman, zero, sigma, vile, super mario, fire mario.....um....frog mario and not even luigi got a mention!

It's a toss-up between Samus Aran from the Metroid games, Baraka from Mortal Kombat, or Kane from the Command and Conquer series (at least, the ones that actually feature NOD).

Gosh, there're too many to pick. I always thought the (cartoony - not 3D - version) of Rayman had something cool about it.
My favourite character is Mr. Gimmick from the NES game with same title. That game is one of my absoulute favourites, Mr. Gimmick is an awesome, fearless hero.
Longtime favorite is Zero from the MegaMan series (X or Zero, take your pick)
Why?
Cyborg + Red + Beamsword = Awesome (And also, he isn't as whiny as X)
Viewtiful Joe is also awesome. Lot's of character and style in him.
Another character that's growing on me is Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes.
Edit: Also, my favourite video game character is Fronk or "Shag" from the Warioware series. Unfortuanly, he is a little shy so I was unable to find any photos of him online.
btw if you find a pic of him you get 10 Zillian poionts.
