My friend bought the full thing and tried it for a while but soon discovered that it's very much suited for particular genres (scrolling shooters, for example) and not others.

Like how MMF = platformers?

I think it's got one up on Clickteam, since it has a scripting language... CT need to make the coding for our games accessible, and it's SO easy to do!!! Are they just afraid that we'll find faults in their buggy compiling?

They need that along with lots more, because they're leaving the door wide open for companies like this.

I used to use it.

It's pretty overrated. You can really only use it for simple things unless you edit the code.

tribes and tribes 2 use the torque game engine.
its got one up on the 3d aspect. never tried it tho.
