Edit: I just got Vista on a laptop and I really like it's "photoshoppy" look as people tend to call it. It's really not that bad, just takes time to adjust to it. Also I have a cool cat clock with a swinging tail and moving eyes n_n

I can't even remember how you did that "fancy 3d stuff". I think I've activated it by accident once or twice since I got Vista, but I don't care, it's completely useless anyway.

Myeah, it's greyed-out though because I've installed new hardware since the last time it rated my system... got a 5.8 now - because I don't have RAID, probably

Actually those apps are completely legal, funnily enough! hah! I didn't pay for them out of my own pocket though, they're from one of those 'extended licence' whatevers... my college ftw.
I got a desktop shortcut for pretty much everything I use, which means I have about 80-odd icons. It might look a mess to anyone else, but it makes it quicker for me.
Davince you hardly customized your Gnome panels!

Yes, I like custom Classic themes.
No, I don't use Group Windows, It's just a hack to make windows from the same process next to each other on the task bar, but they're never actually grouped to one button.

I didn't customize because I like it like this. Though I guess I could put the top bar at the bottom or something.
The custom classic theme is a bit ugly, you aren't really a designer.
Designer chaps normally like using the classic theme as it's a neutral grey, much like how Apple's pro monitors have a silver bezel in lieu of more prettiful black or white casings.
I'd say he wasn't a designer by his desktop pic though

Anyway I managed to hack Windows to have my font as Lucida Sans instead of Lucida Sans Unicode (They don't look the same, and I can't set a non-Unicode font manually in this installation.) and altered the shadows a bit. It looks better.

Yeah, that bold italic font looks absolutely horrible, especially with the weird font smoothing on it (there are some red/green artifacts around the text sometimes). Also, my theme has a glossy look to it, not a horizontal gradient with default colors.
Who cares as long as you have a desktop you're comfy with.
