It takes a 3D model file and crappily displays it (if it doesn't crash while you try to import the model file).

Nope, that's the 3D mesh object. The 3D Actives object, as far as I can understand, gives 2D sprites a Z axis and resizes them according to their virtual depth, giving some basic impression of 3D, but it doesn't rotate or skew objects.

I can't say I ever had trouble with the 3dmesh object. It's one heck of an extension.

There are examples in the Examples folder of MMF2.
Gee, Why people never look at this folder?

I never got anything but trouble with MMF1.5's one. I managed to get one model imported, and the textures were all gone.

Sorry for the mix-up, I have no idea what kind of MMF2 extensions there are.

MMF1.5's one was 3D sprite, not 3D Mesh.

Does anyone have any more information about the "3d Active Object" that was mentioned earlier? I've been searching for references on it and can't find any. Is it a MMF 2.0 thing? Can it be downloaded somewhere? Not the 3D mesh object, but the one that adds a Z-axis to a 2d sprite so you can scale it.

It was in LIJI's Bonus Pack for MMF2. No idea how to use it though, never played around with it, but it comes with examples.

Downloaded? It comes with MMF1.5 by default and is so crappy it isn't ported to MMF2.
If MMF2 has a 3D mesh object, that's only better. Use that one?

Where the hell are people getting mesh from? 3D Actives, no meshes, completely different extension.

Look: http://extensions.co.nr/index.php?action=extension&name=3D_Actives

Just to help Vince:

MMF 1.5:

3D Sprite by Clickteam
Sucked that bad so they never ported it.

MMF 2:

3D Mesh by TurboFerret
Very good, usable, and has no connection to the bad MMF 1.5 object 3D Sprite

3D Actives by me
Can resize and move active and active-like objects to emulate a 3D environment.
It doesn't do anything with 3D Models or anything similar to the 3D Mesh and Sprite objects.

The 3d Active object is the one that sounds the most useful. Too bad there isnt one for MMF 1.5 Hmmm, guess it's another reason to get 2.0

Thanks for the help!
