I know I'm biased but I cracked up when I read this. You can smell the deadpan (which when you see the words sounds like it wouldn't smell very good!)
The only problem, if you can call it that, is that before nobody really expected too much out of my stuff. Now there's a new wave of "WAT NO DAVID HASSLEHOFFS IN ET??!11!" and it seems like the expectations for it are going to be too high. Personally, I think it's good and pretty big with a lot of features, but that being said it's only my 3rd click game ever and my 1st with a custom engine that still jitters in places (although I don't think it is that bad it still happens sometimes.)
I guess I should have realized that by taking on any part of the Castlevania universe you have the rare opportunity to piss off a lot of people if you screw things up too much. In hindsight, I almost wish I would have made this with no tinge of CV in it, since it's basically a wholly original game anyhow. The original title believe it or not was called "Del Duio vs. The Castle of Asshole" HAHAHA. In fact, the folder that stores all of the game's graphic files is named "COA" still.
The main things I want to accomplish is to let the player have fun, let them say "WOW" or "COOL" a few times while playing it, laugh in places while playing it, understand where I'm coming from, and finally realize that this is a truly unique game and it never tried to be some Castlevania clone- Which is what I think some people think it's trying to be.

I'm sure it'll be a good game, if it was exactly like a CV game I think it would get a worse reception. Since it's got loads of original bits I think it will go down very well. No-one (should) say that your engine is bad, they should be happy because another person switched to custom, I also think that if people don't expect much you should just prove them wrong (NOTE: Don't think that what I say reflects in ANY of my games necessarily.)
LOL, you guys should see the drumset I just drew for my skeleton band. I made up a little script for what they say, I think it's funny and I think that RUSH fans will really think it's funny.
I made a MIDI for a drum solo..
After I get all the new magic bug-free I'm going to throw some cutscenes in and then hopefully in a couple of weeks... B-Movie voiceovers!!
