Hey, everyone. It's been eons since I've posted here. Lots has happened on my end.

HyperActive Productions was put on hiatus a long time ago. I moved on to work as a Game Designer for Gameloft, and I've recently returned from this year's GDC. I learned so much and had such an incredible time, and I wanted to just let you guys know that I've recently started an official blog to coincide with my official website.

At this blog, I've posted a lot of my GDC experiences - everything from meeting the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto to hanging out with God of War creator David Jaffe.

I figured that since I've grown up with this community and used it a lot as an independent back in the day, I would give you guys a heads up to this blog. You may learn a thing or two. Feel free to comment on the blog and ask any questions you may have.

This will probably be the last time I ever check this website (The last time I checked it was, according to my profile, 5400 hours ago). I'm far too busy these days with projects to visit anymore. Best of luck to all of your aspiring guys. Stick with it. Anything's possible if you put your minds to it.

Blog : jl.hyperactiveproductions.net/blog/

Sincerely,
Joe Laurino

EDIT : I also wanted to congratulate my good friend Derek Yu on his huge win the other night at the Independent Games Festival. You guys know him as the artistic half of the now defunct Blackeye Software, most famous for creating Eternal Daughter. Derek Yu's new team, Bitblot, went on to win the big award - the Suemas McNally Grand Prize - for his most recent title, Aquaria. The grand prize was $25,000 dollars. He accepted the award on stage in front of many industry professionals, including Miyamoto himself.

Wow. Gameloft, good job man! I've played some of your games on my cell phone, except a glitch made me get them for free, but it wasn't my fault.

Side Note: If I met Miyamoto I would have cried like a girl and ran away. So kudos on the confidence.

That Shigs story is pretty amazing. Have to second the crying like a girl sentiment.
