"Is someone making JonnyMataza his sprite dude still or not? :\"

Yes. I just forgot about this thread a little... >_<

No problem JonnyMataza, just trying to help out.

But please, when you're expecting someone to do an animation for you, you shouldn't wait for the the most flawless and perfect animation. Sure, I admit the legs should've lifted from the ground just a little, and the chest area could've used some more work.
But still you should stick to your own opinion and not scrap it just because someone mentiones some very small detail issues. My work would feel a little more appreciated then.

But still I'm eager to help so I made the walk animation a little better and I also made you a running animation:
Walking: http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/789/walkingkc6.png
Running: http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2805/runningln1.png

Oh, and if you want more animations, please tell me all animations directly, not just one by one please.

Those animations are great especially the running animation, but i think the arms should move more(with running only the left arm), but oke this is cool too.

They're quite good, although the guy's chest is still glued to my monitor.. he's running forwards not at 45 degrees? :S

techno_games: Actually, I think more work with the arms would just be overkill. If the main character is supposed to be a "normal character", then there's no need to flex with your arms when walking like when you're running. The arms do sway a little back and forth, but ah... I can't bother more about the arms. Unless JonnyMataza disagrees.
It's good that you point it out though.

Tim: Haha, I didn't quite understand what you meant at first. But I see what you mean now.
I animated him to run and walk at 45 degrees because the standing one was in the same degree, and I didn't think more about it. But well...

Ah what the heck, I'll fix it.

Ooh, a good way to figure walking animations is to search 'Sprite Sheet' in google images. You can get some pretty good results in a lot of different styles that way. If you want it to look like a specific character (like metroid or something) stick that in with the search.

Works for any animation, really. I know I used Samus's ledge climbing animation as a basis for my dude.

Some sprites have a lot of frames, though, so if you're lazy or don't want it to look that smooth just pick out what look like key frames and try to emulate those into your own character.

Too bad I couldn't edit the previous post, I was too late.

I worked some more on those sprites and I tried to fix the direction thing (with the chest) on both animations. And on the walking one I think there is some more arm swinging than the previous animation. I also made the one of the legs a little more dark.

I'll wait and see what JonnyMataza has to say now.

They're very good, but in the running animation it looks like everything above the legs should be at a slight angle, not that makes it crappy or anything . But the twisted-towards-the-screen-chest is fixed, so that’s good

JonnyMataza: Oh, I see. Yes, you're right. But you can run that way too.
If you want, I'll fix it. But you mean that the upper body should move more, right?
Also, if you use those animations, please put a "Spiriax" under special thanks.

Oh, and did you need more animations.. ?

techno_games: Ah, thanks alot! (At last, he he )

If you could fix that running animation, that would be really good , cuz I just thought that the upper body was a little to stiff for a running animation. And I do need more character animations, but I was panning on making those ones my self unless someone asked. If you really want to do them, let me know.
