Im thinking about buying the Dev version of the MMF2 product but want to know if its worth the money right now, is it all the hype that everyon is saying, i was looking at some of the extensions like advanced movment pathfinding things to find the shortest area and such just blows me away.

Im just wondering because $410.00CAD is a lot to me and don't want to blow my money.

Thanks, all comments welcome.

If you've used TGF or MMF which it looks like you have, then I'm sure you have a pretty good idea on how klik software works and if you like it or not. With that said, and if you liked TGF or even MMF at all, then yes, snag yourself a copy of MMF2 (at least if you plan to continue using it) because it is litterly everything the hype was built up to be.

Of course, the day of release left people hyping higher then usual as far as expectations, leaving some disappointments that some people still hold to this day, but for people still down to earth, MMF2 is one of the biggest improvements Clickteam made since I started kliking.

Save yourself some cash though, if you don't play to sell your games or don't plan to go into serious application design, because you're paying $100 more for stuff you aren't going to use, and I'm sure Clickteam will agree with me here, because that was the original plan. Developer is merely a name for a version that has features the average designer might not need. The idea was to help average buyers save some cash, so I'd just go with Standard. That's what I did anyway.

Well thanks for the information guys, I dont want the standard version because of the Whole popup window crap like CnC and KNP had, im willing to pay 100$ to get rid of that, and if I sell any products they will be cheap mainly for hosting costs etc. But I just didn't want to pay like I said 400$ and then be like wow, this isnt much better then mmf 1.5 why did I just waste my money.

Well if you already have MMF 1.5 Developer then you want to look into the upgrade discount.

If you are happy with MMF 1.5 then you may want to hold onto you money as nothing in MMF 2 is really that much different then MMF 1.5 bar a few features that just speed up property editing and debugging.

I love certain new features in MMF2, and the extensions that come out of it are really top-notch. Other than that I still use MMF1.5 for some other projects...

I don't have MMF2 either, but am planning to buy it. The best way to determine if you want is is use the 30 days of demo time to their fullest, and see how it works out for you (and if you really want it). I know I do, after only 10 days of usage...

Yeah I love the demo i found it 10x easier to use then TGF and I used to start all my products in TGF and convert over to mmf.

Its just is it worth the money, would I regret spending 400$ on it later on.

Dev is not worth it for the standard home user like you. You only get a few more options (they are pretty professional though) and something like not having to include a logo and still being able to sell your game.

Go for MMF2 standard.

Where did you get the idea that MMF2 has a popup window? MMF2 doesn't have the popup window, TGF2 does. I wouldn't dare pay anything more then $10 if it had a popup window basicly saying that I didn't pay enough money to get the real version.

Get MMF2 Standard, you can still sell your games and they DON'T HAVE a splash screen, regardless of what you heard, and if you include the MMF logo in your game/cd/case atleast somewhere visable, then you CAN sell your games/applications.

MMF2 Standard license agreement is basicly the same as MMF 1.5's, TGF2's license agreement is the same as TGF Home.

PS: KNP, CnC, TGF, MMF, and I believe even Jamagic all get you a discount off of MMF2 Standard and Pro (You can only get a discount for 1 of them though, so go with the one with the highest discount, in this case, MMF 1.5 Pro, then MMF 1.5 Standard, MMF 1.2 & MMF 1.0 both get you a discount too, not as big as 1.5 though.)
