Hi, I'm kind of new here. Does anyone know of any easy hosting websites so people can download my game? I tried to submit my game but my website doesn't host it very well. And when I do get another place to host, do I re-submit my game? Also, is there any program to take screenshots of your game? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Screenshots can be taken by pressing PrtSc, then Edit/Paste in any graphics program.

For hosting, many people have used Sitesled in the past, but its reliability has gone downhill recently. I've had an account with Angelfire for years, though I don't really use it any more, and it seems fine to me. You're not really supposed to use it exclusively as a file host, but I've never had any problems.

There's nothing in the pending queue at the moment, so I think you'll have to re-submit.

Isn't Angelfire almost the same thing as Geocities? I've tried to use Geocities to host but it doesn't work. I'm not sure where to go.

Sitesled has raised very high after it's huge dip, I highly recommend trying there before you consider anywhere else. The main catch is, you need a website, they consider themselfs a website host, not web storage, even though if you have a website, you can use the rest for storage and they don't mind. http://www.sitesled.com/

" Screenshots can be taken by pressing PrtSc, then Edit/Paste in any graphics program."

Pressing alt+prt scrn. . . otherwise it gets the entire screen and not just the game. Unless you're running the game in full screen.

I'd recommend Sitesled over Netfast if you plan to keep your information private, because obviously you didn't read the Privacy Policy and it states that your information WILL be shared with third party sites, and they collect information such as your credit card, income, etc, all to send you promotional shit from themselves and third party "partners".

It's sites like this that look to good to be true, because they are. Do you're research before looking into a site that looks to good to be true. To be honest, it took me a few days before I trusted Sitesled. They state though that nothing is shared and no promotional shit will be sent, so yes. I still recommend Sitesled.

There was a big stretch of 2+ weeks where SiteSled was down almost every day and it SUCKED ASS. BrandonC's right though, as aside from that awful stretch they've been much improved lately. I think as long as you register hits on your website they don't mind if other places direct link to your games. (I think!)

If you have a relatively fast internet connection, you can set up your computer to be a web server, and host them on your own computer.

Sitesled has been up solid every day so far after they fixed their act, I don't know what you guys are talking about. Everytime I go to Siteseld.com I get the home page.

At this rate, The Daily Click is down more then Sitesled is.

If you have a Gmail account, you can get a site with Google Pages: http://pages.google.com

Also, if you change your host, you just have to edit your download here to point to the new host. You can find this option under "User Admin" in the left bar, or at the download itself.

Sitesled works fine and fast for me every day.

There's a few days offtime per month, and last two months weren't too good, but other than that I'd say Sitesled is above average.

I didn't actually know about the Google Pages space. 100MB isn't bad at all, but I'd have to check whether they allow it to be used for just file hosting rather than a set of pages.

Then DailyClick messed up, anyway. Sitesled is up for me, and has been up every single day since I replied to this topic (I've been checking to make sure my point was still valid.).

Oh my god, they share my information, I'm gonna shit my pants now. Do you think I acutally enter real stuff into the form. And they don't ask you for a credit card number since you don't pay them. And it didn't really seem to good to be true, just sitesled deleted my account a few times.

People who are honest with their information, because they want an account in their name, and not some fake persons name, have a lot to lose in places when they just run in and sign up without checking the privacy policy.
In addition to that, Sitesled does not just delete accounts for no reason. They often delete them because you don't have a website, or your website has been under construction, or your website is merely a little shit website just to say you have one. Sitesled considers themselves a website host, not internet storage. However Sitesled will let you use their space as storage, granted you have a half decent website. That is the ONLY catch, and I would rather that, then to have my information thrown around like a game of hot potato.

They also delete your account if they find out the information you entered is false. Ever read their policy? It says that, there.
