I have two computers at home, and whenever theyre plugged in this specific place in this room, these weird things happen (usually all at the same time, at random times):

-Speakers splurt out loads of noise
-Screen stops updating
-Internet sometimes cuts off
-Gamepad starts inputting random button presses to games

The most common two are the noise from speakers and internet cutting off at the same time, but does anyone have any idea why this happens? When i'm with this computer at uni, none of this happens, its only when its plugged in here at my house.

Just put it in the tub with you for a while and that usually fixes it. Basically the water rewires the circuits and things. Good luck.

Well i went in the tub with it and all the dust from inside came out in the bath water and it was all horrible... but i think the hammer idea that BrandonC suggested destroyed it and now its just all wet and i dunno what to do with it >< it doesnt even turn on anymore

now sorry to shatter your illusions of ghosts and spiritual hackers but to me it just sounds like you have a power anomoly in that room. you need to get an electrician to rewire the room or one day you will get the SHOCK of your life, quite literally.

I think lembi2001 just explained it. Wrong wiring or the like can do such things. You might not be safe, get things rewired, maybe checked for static and electromagnetic waves too (not for ghost reasons, lol)!

Ok cheers guys!

My dad has an insanely high power hifi installed in the same room (like with 8000 amplifiers and stuff that no one knows what does)... do you reckon that could be affecting it?

I suggest you don't ask any DCers for help.

Most of them will just make a few lame jokes; only a select few will actually help.

I have no idea what's wrong with your computer...I agree with DD: fuckin' ghosts.
