I can't get any mooclick game to connect, not my own, not tigerwork's example, not flanville 2...
The thing is windows firewall asks if i want to block it, so something is happening...
I've tried turning the firewall off...
Tried different MOS servers, and tried localhost, anyone know what the problem is?

I had a problem with MooClick connecting when I first got started.
First things first, I don't know if this is your problem, but it could be that various MOS servers could actually be down by now, and in order for localhost to work, you need to have the MOS open, which you can find the source to at http://www.3ee.com/moo/downloads.htm just incase you didn’t. Other then that, the only real thing I can think of is that you could have something blocking the port your trying to get through, usually its port 1203. Check your router (if you have one) or various internet settings.

If nothing else works, upload it and I'll check it out for you. I haven’t really had any recent problems, so I might be able to pin the problem for you.

PS: I know that if your going from Moo2 to MooClick, one of the biggest things I noticed is, you want to create a name before you connect, then sign on to a channel. This was one of my biggest problems when first starting out.

Thanks Phizzy, didnt know that

Brandon:
Firstly, it's not a problem with my game coding, I can't even get tigerwork's example to work
Secondly, I checked to see whether the servers were online using MOScheck, still didnt work
Thirdly, you dont need a MOS server when doing localhost because I've done it before without.

It might be a program blocking a port, but I've tried various ports :/
Anyone else have any idea?

I just checked that theory of localhost working without an MOS, and just as I suspected, it's not possible. Unless you have an MOS open, when your computer receives a request to connect to it, then send and receive information... its impossible for your PC to do it without some sort of server running. The MOS is what allows you to connect, sign on, and send/receive information. It is what checks a particular port, for information. Even if you could go without the MOS, how would you know what port to connect to? The MOS is what does everything a server does, so without it. No, you can not connect to localhost, or your IP address. Sorry.

PS: This theory was just tested less then 2 minutes before editing this post. So it's not like I'm guessing here. Localhost did not connect when I was not running an MOS, but the second I opened the MOS, localhost became live.

Well, I've never used the MOS before, and I've done it before, and it know wat port because i specify it, duh. Anyways, that's irrelevant, I tried using a MOS server, but still nothing. Now what I need to know is why I cannot connect.

What it sounds like to me is, your blocking the port you want to get into. Make an MOS, and host on another port, see if that works. If not, I dont know... doesn't sound like a reinstall fix problem, so at this point... your pretty much alone unless you can have someone personally check and see whats wrong so they can give you the proper fix.
