I'm redesigning a game I made over 2 years ago, and I've noticed with the new stuff I want to add, it causes it to lag a bunch. What type of object should I be using to scroll with the screen, instead of an active object, to help reduce lag, but still keep the features of an active object(variables, directions, color settings, ink effects, etc)?

This has always been an issue, but to reduce lag make sure you use as small objects as possible. Also make sure you turn off everything thats not needed with the object (collision with box and such). In my experience I find that Active Overlay is very fast so I use that..
Cant really tell you much more.. hope this helps some at least...
