I think I have solved a problem with this game I am making, yet to find another. Is there any way that I could have a return where the space is?

Edittext$( "(E) Enter Text" ) + " " + Edittext$( "Edit Object" )

I am guessing its a character but when I use a traditional Return character nothing pastes. Have I reached the limitations of TGF so soon?

Thanks,
Sean

Yes, there is. Instead of the " ", use NewLine$. If you can't remember that, go to "retrieve data from an object", click on "Special", then click "String", and then click "New Line".

EDIT: I think TGF can do that too, it might not be the exatly same though. If it doesn't work, just get MMF, it's not that expensive and it's way more powerful.

It would?

But it gets the string already in the edit box and adds it to a string from another edit box so the paragraph doesn't even come into play, does it?

In the end, I found MMF's Expression Editor alot more powerful then TGF's for some reason. I dont know if it really is more powerful, or if it just looks more powerful, but overall, I found it alot easier to make alot more complex expressions in it. Small tip I did find out though. In the expression editor (atleast in the MMF one) I noticed that a quote can get so long that it actually causes it to be invalid, example:
"Hello, this is the small example quote that I am using so that I can prove that expression quotes can get so long that MMF wont really understand them, because it will concider them way to long & 'complex', causing it to be invalid and not work."

All you need to do in this situation is cut the long quote in half. Here's what I mean.
"Hello, this is the small example quote that I am using so that I can prove that expression quotes can get so long that " + "MMF wont really understand them, because it will concider them way to long & 'complex', causing it to be invalid and not work."

If you look closer, you'll notice that I just cut it in half, and place a " + " in it, so that it would create 2 small quotes. In the end, instead of having: "", we have ""+"", which is again, completly valid.

Thats one of the nice things about MMF's. Not only does it feel more powerful, but it fits alot more complex strings, and allows cutting long ones in half(even though technically, they shouldnt need to be anyway, but still..)

Good for you. MMF is the big brother of TGF. I don't even know why clickteam still makes TGF, It's pretty much just an old version of MMF. Maybe they should call it MMF Lite. Anyway, I think you'll find MMF to be way more powerfull than TGF and well worth the price. If you have any troubles with the interface (it's really not much different from TGF's, but it may seem confusing at first)just contact me.
